There was a severe problem with the idea itself of turning SNL sketches into feature films. These were meant to be short concept pieces, used to convey a small number of jokes. That's why they worked on the show. They were never meant to be fully fleshed out. "Wayne's World" worked because the characters were actually well defined. Also, Myers had already opened it up to the point where anything could happen.

I love Wayne's World! The second one isn't quite so good, but is still a great film. I'm glad they didn't make a third one.
I know someone who hates the Bratpack films quite a lot.
I mean films like: St. Elmo's Fire, The Breakfast Club and others.
The ones with Emilio Estefez, Ally Sheedy and whoever else was in them...
I quite like them personally. Does anyone else dislike them?

St Elmo´s fire and Breakfast club were great movies IMO.
The worst film I saw was called "Ravenous" about cannabilism. I only watched 30 minutes!

Some were better than others. The John Hughes films were all good. Other directors didn't use them so well. "St. Elmo's Fire" had some moments, but was not much better than daytime soaps. "The Pickup Artist" was also pretty weak.

And what about all those movies about wild animals, insects and/or mutant beasts attacking humans?
1.- Anaconda
2.- Crocodile
3.- Marabunta
4.- Piranha
5.- Octopus
6.- Orca
7.- Killer Fish
8.- Spring Break Jaws Attack
9.- Cujo
10.- Alligator
11.- Alligatior II The Mutation
12.- Arachnophobia
13.- Locusts
14.- Frogs
15.- Attack of the Crab Monsters
From all those only saw Marabunta (1958 classic of the genre), Cujo and Anaconda because it was made by a Peruvian Director (Luis Llosa), just knowing it has an animal name is probably cr*p.

I think I've seen Braindead, or the other Peter Jackson movie that is very similar. Haha, great stuff (if you like silly films!).

^ Bad Taste is another masterpiece of his, his earlier films are SO much better than the Lord of the Rings-movies (speaking of All-Time Worst .. well, not quite). Haven't seen King Kong though, I wonder if it's good. Further evidence that you don't need a 100 billion dollar budget to make a good movie.

To refresh your memory, Braindead contains the classic line from a priest about to tackle zombies: "I kick ass for the LORD", continues with our hero being chased by a persons alimentary tract (which, of course, farts at him...), and concludes with him dispatching the zombies armed with a rotary mower... all of which scenes could have livened up some moments of "The Two Towers"
Ring any bells?

Alien vs Predator - who the hell came up with the idea?
A Walk (not) to Remember - nerdy girl falls in love with cool guy and dies from cancer. Good riddance.

Don't bother. Even the effects are iffy (and that was suposed
to be the biggest selling point), the screen play is stupid and the
acting really amateurish. I turned it off after 45 minutes of waiting
for something to happen that wasn't hackneyed or idiotic.

You probably turn off a lot of movies these days (and with good reason) Hmm.....other...bad...movies.....oh Sci Fi original movies are hilariously bad. Did anyone see "Skeeters" (I think it was called)? Worst effects I've seen in a long time. (It was about giant mosquitoes, for those who couldn't tell) There was no plot....it was just.....giant....mosquitoes.... Oh BTW anyone have any input on the new Pirates of the Carribean movie?

That's the one! Thanks. What's Bad Taste like? I nominate, for the pure reason that they are supposed to be bad: Russ Meyer films! Also add the Kaufman stuff too! Surf Nazi's From Hell (or something like that!) Interesting! I saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean and it wasn't that bad... I've not the seen the new one yet. Another film I want to nominate, but I've not seen (I've seen bits of it with no sound though) is: The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Anybody else hate Forrest Gump like I do? I rank it as tied with "Cabaret" starring Liza Minelli and Joel Gray as the worst movie I've ever seen.
I've seen Roadrunner cartoons that were more believable than Gump. Star Wars looks like a documentary next to that crap.

Forrest Gump is one of my favorites. It contains one of my favorite lines in cinema:
"I guess sometimes there just aren't enough rocks."
