Beer is very underrated because many worldwide snobs did the people believe that wine has a superior taste to beer, NO! Just try La Chouffe, Gouden Carolus Classic, Grimbergen, Optimo Bruno, Sean Trane Special Wink ...

I drink both - and Erik is very much right about beer. Still, I voted wine, because that's what I drink more and like more. Reason? Can't explain, just like I can't explain my taste in music.....

Ale is good in the morning or mid-day, but at night it's usually pilsner.  Not that I'm a drunk or anything.  Wink

I agree that beer is severly underrated in comparison to wine.  Wine is like classical music because of the connotation of it being part of the upper class and all the elitism that comes with it; which is a shame.  Beer tends to be associated with the working class.  I don't know why this is.  I know of people who collect wine and have wine tasting parties, but I don't know anybody who has beer tasting parties.  To bad too, because there are so many great beers from around the world that most people have never tried.  It seems here in the U.S. the attitude is worse - it's either Budweiser or nothing at all.  Which means many of the great beers of the world go largely unnoticed.  Cry

Wine is amazing.  When one gets a chance to taste a top class Barolo or Nebbiola he feels like he's in beverage heaven.  I'll take the wine anyday.

Never tried either, but you certainly make them sound worthwhile.  I'll have to given them both a try.  Life is too short to drink bad wine (or beer for that matter).Smile

Love both, but I've had to stop drinking red wine in recent years. I cant take the heart burn or the headaches. I like it, but it dont like me..

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

A few times a year I organize beer tasting parties, including some prog music and some fine cheeses. It's an excellent combination, perhaps I open a thread to mention your Holy Trinity of beer, prog and cheese Wink !
