The Dark Side Of Garlic... hehehe, jk jk ![Big smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif) |
As soon as I saw the 'dark side' comment I had an image of a beam of light being diffracted through a clove of garlic. Somebody with talent at Photoshop should get on that.

It's essential to fine dining, eh!
Incidentally, I believe that quiet, calming Celt, Easy Liver, smokes, er speaks Garlic.
('Specially when ee's 'ad a wee dram -- as is his wont every decade or so ![Shocked](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif) , when he carefully, calculatingly, cuts loose. Faith and begorah! Sure 'tis only auld Aisy, out fer a hop! )
In his long-ago youth, he cut a merry figure in a schoolgirl's skirt and bonnet:
Traditional Highland Prancing
"Wheee! I'm as light on ma toes as a feckin' fither -- and as giddy as a wee garril!"
Rather a pity you noobs met him early into another ten-year plan....![Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif)
Ach, whimsey -- we hardly knew ye! ![Disapprove](smileys/smiley13.gif)

Just don't mix it with spinach - that's how bad things happen! |
Personally, I find that a mixture of garlic and mushrooms is the combination to avoid utterly... if I don't want divorce papers served the day afterwards ![](smileys/smiley11.gif) ; the problem is, there is no more wonderful combination than seppe flash fried in butter, to which a couple of the the glorious cloves have been added.
Garlic (although I gave it an 'A'), does, as one member stated have its dark side; no other food (and if I had my way, garlic would be recognised as a major food group in itself) in my experience manages to insinuate itself into every facet and pore of your body: rub your nose and you smell garlic, sweat and everybody smells garlic, breath and everybody gets some... face it, even your poo smells of it, and as for the results of the above mentioned combination of mushrooms and garlic, well... even the cat won't come near me, and he should complain!

Two stinky thumbs up...? ![](smileys/smiley5.gif) Peter, you really should control your more base instincts, especially in the kitchen - now wash your hands, you dirty boy!
Note to self: if ever Vicky & I visit Mr Rideout and family, stick to bland food.
