You'll find beauty Here! (If you stream the song). Next on your list should be Magma: Udu Wudu. I hope that will do the trick for you.

oh man.. face it.. Zeuhl isn't for everyone... even in a genre where it's fans exemplify open-mindedness.... Zeuhl can be a bit much.

I love it, for it it's creative nature, especially Magma where you've got jazz, classical, operatic singing, the incredible vocals of Stella Vander and Klaus Blasquiz and mind-blowing instrumental talent all rolled together.  Abstrakt... give it the old 7 listen rule.. if it doesn't click... move on to something else.  I love it.. nearly as much as symphonic prog... but others do not.

Try it! they have an amazing electric-cello player instead of the usual electric-guitar.

Thanks for the recommendation! I did stream that track, and it was great - though obviously no easy listening. A friend of mine is crazy about Magma - time to catch some as well!Thumbs Up

That song by DÜN is great.

my first Zeuhl album was MDK, and I loved it right away

different genres are offputting to different people, for example i wouldn't touch neoprog with a ten foot stick

as a side note

I think DUN's Eros is fantastic, but wouldnt recommend it for a first timer, that one takes a lot of attention

I would actually reccomend Dün for a first timer. More than most Magma, and defenatly before MDK.

If you're used to let's say; Hatfield and the North and Soft Machine, Eros shouldn't be to hard to get into. It was my first real Zeuhl love, and its still my favorite instrumental album.

I also love about everything by Magma now.

I'm so pleased you both liked the Dün track, Ghost Rider and Meddler. There shouldn't be any reason for you not to love the whole fantastic album.

Dun and Magma are fantastic. I definitely recommend Far Corner too. I have yet to grab their album (though I will soon), but the mp3s I've heard were very good.

I don't see the beauty either, Zeuhl is so unique I may be missing the point of it.

There is no beauty in Zeuhl Stern Smile It's raw, hard, complex, quirky and above all, downright UGLY.

And thats why I love it! Hug

and Dün - Eros  is a masterpiece

I think zheul lacks the meloncholy of symphonic prog etc, zheul has emotion but not the sorrow as say In the court of the Crimson King, there doesn't seem much 'pain' in zheul. I love Magma and Dun though, but not when I'm feeling meloncholy; Genesis and Van der graft does the trick for that for me.
