 Anyways: Germany versus Costa Rica....

You know the result of that before it even began...
Well Costa Rica have some very talented players like Paulo César Wanchope  and they probably Complicate the game for Germany.

Make the score 2-0 instead of the 8-0 rout of Luxembourg!
Now i concour with you Flossy

Well, about that penalty in the first half during the game England-Hungary: Drogba, Robben and Van Nistelrooij have taught the England players in the Premier League how to dive Angry in order to force a penalty Wink ..

I just watched that Japan took a 2-0 lead against Germany, if Germany looses Beckenbauer and Bild Zeitung will slam 'Die Mannschaft':

                     .... Ouch Ouch OuchOuchOuchOuchOuchOuchOuchOuchOuch .......

I'm not sure Gerrard needs tuition in diving.......he does, after all, play for Liverpool......

Japan 2-0 up against Germany? Superb! Wonder if Klinsmann bothered to turn up, or did he stay at home in the US again?

Im very disappointed with that dive by Gerrard...the penalty save was justice served.
Wonder goal by Hungary from outside the box was the only way they were going to score although Hargreave's closing down was non-existant.
Joe Cole and David Beckham were England's best players and I still worried by Owen's lack of fitness.
I'm still not convinced by Lampard as an England player yet.Maybe the World Cup proper will see him grow...

Crimson thing:

I do have a Jimmy Hill chin!

Mr. Hill only had his beard in the '60s and '70s, he no longer has it!

He doesn't look anything like me!

Good to see a picture from Jimmy Hill here Thumbs Up !

Yes Tony R, Beckam and Cole were the best players and Crouch did also well as a sub. Remarkable was how many times the commentators mentioned the importance of Wayne Rooney ("he can create something out of nothing")!

Rooney's clearly taken the wrong career path.....shoulda been a nuclear (sorry, "nucular") scientist.......or a Paul Daniels impersonator..........or a politician........

Rooney is by far England's key player on this team, if he doesn't play, England will be screwed... But remember, England lost their best striker in 66

Funnily enough, there has been the odd TV programme (or ninety) in the past couple of weeks about the World Cup...........especially the '66 one...Wink

And, to be precise, we didn't "lose" - Greaves (for I presume it is he whom you mean - ?) - he was briefly injured, then dropped (or at least not reinstated) Smile But I'm only hairsplitting, sorry.

Nevertheless, do you genuinely believe England can win the World Cup, with or without Rooney? I have to say, I'm extremely sceptical........and, after Gerrard's blatant cheating against Hungary, and Ericksson's implicit condoning thereof, I have to say I shan't be supporting them.........

I dont know about wining the world cup, but weve got a good chance to get some distance this time.

And yes, that was a terrable dive from gerrard, but I've seen much worse from others.
Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

I just watched Italy against Switzerland, just another unsportive performance by Italy (after Juventus against Arsenal in the Champions league), what an awful fouls made by De Rossi and again Gattuso Angry, that man belongs in prison!
What to expect from a team that is chased by the scandal about bribery of players and refs Confused ? Will this boost the coherence and friendship or will this evoke more agressiveness?

Yes, an interesting game, just watch Wesley Schnijder, he is a substitute for Raphael Van Der Vaart (ankle injury) but in my opinion he is one of the most talented youngsters, so dynamic, lots of pace and he can shoot Thumbs Up , 3-1 is my prophecy!

What team do you think will Win?

Right now, I've narrowed it down to 5 teams....

Brazil, England, France, Germany or the Czech Republic...

Even though the Germans are mighty weak this time.
