Mexico has no chance of winning, period.

Who?

Oswaldo Sanchez is our goalkeeper now, but he is really good!

So maybe you refer to Jorge Campos, a "short" guy who used to wear strange sport clothes?
He`s now a coach assistant LOL

Haha, yes, Jorge Campos!  He used to run into the penalty box for free kicks, such a crazy guy!

Come on Mexico!  France are annoying and overrated and boring to watch, even with Henry!

Would you rather be known as a sh*t country, with a gracious footy team?

Or, like us Brits, as a sh*t country with a sh*t footy team??

Really, it was a sincere compliment - and you surely don't see Bergkamp as an angel???

I have visited many games when Dennis Bergkamp played for Ajax and I have enjoyed so many great moments but Dennis 'Non-Flying Dutchman' Bergkamp has also a dark side, he has commited some very mean foules during his period in London with Arsenal like kicking somebody when he was lying on the ground!

By the way, I am on my work, it's a few hundred meters from the Feijenoord Stadium in Rotterdam and I just heard a jubilous roar, indeed Holland leads with 1-0 against Cameroon halfway the first half, it was Van The man who scored Thumbs Up !

Urgh, I cannot stand van Nistelrooy!

I always liked Marc Overmars though.  Great little player!

As for Jordi Cruyff... useless comes to mind.

Ruud Van Nistelrooij is a real winner like Lothar Mattheus, they do everyting (positive and negative) to win so he dives, he provokes, he makes mean foules but he also makes many (important) goals so Man United and Holland fans tend to forgive him when he helps us to win important games!

I just don't like him.  It's because of the Manchester United connection I think.  I don't like any Manchester United players!

What you need is Gianfranco Zola!

Unfortunately most teams need a Gianfranco Zola!

Dutch coach Marco Van Basten wanted to play against an African team (yesterday Cameroon) and a Latin-American team (as Memowakeman mentioned his country Mexico) in order to test our national team how to play against a physical strong team like Cameroon and a defensive (read: sneaky Wink ) team like Mexico ( I suppose so, I have not seen Mexico playing for a year). So we are trying to build our a bit un experienced team, yesterday we had a great first half, very dominant with forchecking that reminded me of the legendary 1974 Dutch team (Cruijff, Neeskens, Van Hanegem) so their is hope in the Dutch football hearts Big smile ...!!

Well, I haven't seen the '74 matches in complete, but yesterday's first half was something to be positive about. Awful team though, Cameroon. It looked like they were getting paid to injure someone on Holland's side... Thank god they didn't.
And everybody is talking about the fact that Holland might be lacking experience, but when you start with players like Van der Sar, Van Nistelrooy, Van Bommel... I think the cap average was about 25 yesterday, with only 3 or 4 players who have played 10 or less games for the national team. So that fact doesn't concern me a bit. Smile

Focus on the music... Focus!

What's this "forchecking" thing ? Are we playing American Football all of a sudden ? (Or Rugby Union, with a ref who allows the Southern Hemisphere lot to get away with blocking ??) Wink
Yeah, I know, they all do it - but we're supposed to pretend they're all saints (just like we're supposed to pretend we, the spectators, don't enjoy red cards Cool ).

I'm afraid that I've seen so many World Cups now that the idea of favouring one bunch of overpaid cynical cheats over another ceases to have much interest for me any more - even if one of the bunches of cheating thugs happens to share a similarly coloured passport to me.

May the slyest cheats win.

I quite agree!  Well said that man!

Yes, they're all overpaid, annoying, cheating footballers who just happen to wear different strips.

But I still vote for Sweden.

How patriotic of me!
