Hello football fans.

Dutch football coach Marco Van Basten his definitive line-up for the friendly game against Cameroon next Saturday features an amazing line-up:

keeper:
- v/d Sar (Man United)
defence:
- Kromkamp (Liverpool, winner FA Cup)
- Ooijer (PSV, Dutch champion)
- Mathijsen (AZ)
- Van Bronckhorst (Barcelona, Spanish champion and winner Champions League)
midfield:
- Van Bommel (Barcelona, Spanish champion and winner Champions League)
- Cocu (PSV, Dutch champion)
- vd Vaart (Hamburger SV)
forward players:
- Van Persie (Arsenal)
- Van Nistelrooij (Man United)
- Robben (Chelsea, #1 Premier League)

If this line-up turns out to be the final line-up for our first World Cup game against Serbia (June 11th, 1500 AM) in Germany, we have to show the world that 'third time is lucky' (after the lost finals in 1974 and 1974)!

Personally I hope that Van Persie (who dare to blame Wenger that he should have used Bergkamp as a subsitue in the Champions League finale against Barcelona) will show his outstanding skills (watch his free kicks) and Van Der Vaart his incredible passing and shooting!

Two biggest problems I can see Erik are age and discipline.
I hope they do well though, they play the beautiful game......Ruud Gullit called it "sexy football"

Yeh, their in it, their Englands third(?) game.

Speaking of England, the team is looking pretty strong, except for the strikers (two crocks, a lanky guy who never scores and an unproven 17 year oldDisapprove).

You mean Peter Crouch?

Is it:

Owen
Crouch
Rooney
The Unknown dude?

Does Sweden have Ibrahimovic and Muslimovic?

No, Downing was heard of, and is a midfielder.
The unknown dude is Theo Walcott, who's never even played a premiership match since moving to Arsenal.

In my opinion Peter Crouch is very talented (he has a good technique for such a tall player) but can he handle the pressure? This season he has made important goals but also missed many chances. I hope Wayne Rooney will recover fromhis injury!

Ibrahimovic showed his great skills not only  in the Dutch competion but also in Italy. The problem about him is that he is so inpredictable, he alternates between a weirdo and a genius Confused ...

About the sexy football, Tony R, you mean "wearing suspenders and a bra ..Wink " ..

Holland are like England and Spain. They sound good on paper but always underperform when the pressure's on.

I'm not sure that is necessarily true Bob. I think there have always been issues in the Dutch camp, persoanlities causing friction. The squad dynamic is very destructive.

It takes a very special team to lose one final twice.

Out of the group games but he might play in the final.

Amazing isn't it that in the whole of England, there are only two decent strikers and both of them are injured.

I expect some defensive games for England, particularly with Erikkson still in charge.

Mind you, the defensive game might just win it - it worked for Greece anyway!

Too bad Big smile

I hope he still won't be able to play the last 16 knockout game which will then be the end of the tournament for England having lost to Germany Wink

Great optimism with the "but he might play in the final " Bob,but dont you think that England needs players of subtlety, such as Rooney, to progress anywhere near the final?
