Ok, I dont think this ahs been done before...but hear me out here
This is meanly for the people who play an instrument...
I am a guitarris and compose music (prog of course Wink) and I have a mate that is a bassplayer (who is also a member of this site...Dr Evil) but we never can find a good drummer nor keyboard player...so, what would you say if we started a band together? I mean, is there any drummer out there interesnted? Any keyboard player? Any other guitarsit? Any cello ...anything!!! Its all good!!!
The idea is similar to Stream of Passion, we form a group around the world, me Im from Argentina...maybe a drummer from England, a keyboard player from USA, another keyboard player from Switzerland...see my point?
The thing would go like this, anyone who has a good song or things its good sends it to the other members, that is a sound sample and if possible write how the thing is...I know its difficult, but it would be great...
Anyone interested please say so here or send me a personal messege if you dont want to give ...I dont know to much stuff away...
Any instrument will do!!! And it doesnt matter if there are like eight drummers already listed or so...we can make it work...or make more than one band!!!!

Sounds interesting, but do you think many people would actually have the motovation to do this? Maybe they'd do it once or twice and then become un-interested after the first few tries? What sort of prog are you aiming to write for? A mix of styles?

This sounds interesting. I can play the clarinet and sing as well as guitar and keyboard although i'm not really that good at the latter two.

Clarinet sounds great!!!Big smileBig smileBig smile
But are you willing to do it? Its not that hard anyways...but would be fun

The style of the songs I do? mmm I guess I can tell you song by song
One is like a hard rocking 8 minute epic with some Zeppelin I think
there is a heavy dark metal song about 9 minutes
an acoustic piece...also quite dark
an instrumental...kaybe in a Jethro Tull kind of way?...mmm na, but its among the best things we have for sure!
and...my baby, a 17 minutes epic...I guess you could call it Art rock, it has acoustic work in it, both folk and symphonic, some hard guitars and an overture uuuuuhhh...

that would be it for now...

Gee, sounds like you have a well prepared list of genres and lengths there. But how many people are you aiming to have in your International Band, is there to be a maximum or minimum number?

Sounds interesting, but the participants would need some high quality recording equipment for it to sound decent at all. And I totally.. do not. Even though I do play the drums.

i would be perfectly willing i reckon, sounds like fun. I also don't have good recording equipment but wouldn't it be possible for people to just add to scores and then for one or two people with good recording equipment to put it together? or something like that

Aye...I am yet another without decent recording equipment who is interested. It sure would sound fun, but I think i'd rather concentrate on my band at the moment.

As for recording sistems, there are some programs that are quite good...I cant remeber their names now, but I will say them as soon as I remember...
Also there was a progrma which the bassplayer knows how to work which makes the "reconding" sound from the computer mic disapear, so it sounds much better...

Try "SONAR".

It's a cool program, and easy to record, edit and mix.

Arriving somewhere but not here
