I tried it with Viginti Tres/Wings Pt. 2 layed on top of Wings Pt. 1, and the ending for both Wings parts sounds eerie layered over each other. The music and lyrics are slightly at different tempos or just off a tiny bit, and it feels like they cross and fall apart from each other, much like looking through the stereoscopic lenses. VERY weird...

oh dear we are grumpy today........i really can't understand what you mean, Tony!!! i don't know anybody who would DARE poke a stick at one of PA's most sacred cows.....i'm sure some of the guys are only just having a bit of fun!!  i liked the idea of running three tracks together, though, i haven't any tool albums so i tried it with three tracks off three different status quo lp's - and by jingo it works! bit of a racket,though!

Here's something else to keep you all busy. Apparently the four individual photos of the band members on the CD cover
can be used as the pieces of a kind of puzzle. This is from Tool's web site and they don't say what the puzzle is.

You know, the tracks DO sync up, but I wouldn't put it past those guys to make a joke out of it and start bs-ing crap to get the fans to try to do something that won't work....Hell I'd do it  Maynard has a great sense of humor, possibly attributed to his friendship with Bill Hicks. A gag that he tried *that Bill did first* was coming onstage and saying he lost a contact lens somewhere in the audience, making EVERYONE look down to find it. Plus, he was *for a short time* with Green Jelly *at least on Three Little Pigs)

Sry bout triple posting, but can anyone figure out what the person is saying in Vigninti Tres? I sped it up and it sounds like "fransiscooooooooooo"

The reason why I`m typing this stuff is because I purchased 10,000 days thanks to the glowing reviews on this site only to find its the worst CD I have purchased in a long time

Just discovered that Tool aren't the first to do this!!!
I was just reading some reviews, and found this Rosetta band, which play metal in the vein of Isis and Pelican, and they did the same trick. But they synchronised two CDs of music(One heavy and one ambient) instead of 3 songs. Their album was released in 2005. Do you think that this is only a coincidence??

I did have a little fun seeing what would happen after syncing the songs, but thats it. What it all boils down too is
1. Anyone who has ever been near a studio knows this is how albums are made, it is no big feat
2. It is not a great song, just fun to play with
3. Me personnally for my money I would rather have 3 better songs than filler that make 1 song.

In regards to the Flaming Lips comment:
They did release an album called Zaireeka. It comes with four discs
that are supposed to be played simultaneously. They each have different
parts of the same song. This came from experiments Wayne Coyne used to
do with friends where he would record a bunch of cassettes with
different parts of a song and have each person play them in the car
stereos in an underground garage to get a huge echo-y sound.
He was also fascinated by the idea that it would never be played the
same twice as synching 4 players is hard, and cd players typically run
at slightly different speed, so there's always an element of chaos to
it.
Zaireeka is a pretty good album. Two of the discs are designed to play
alone, so if you don't have the equipment to play all discs at the same
time, you still get a couple albums of decent quality.

Posting the double-layered sample isn't allowed I guess?
I'm not into Tool or anything, but I came across the sample, and I
thought of posting it, and then it crossed my mind that it might be
illegal and stuff..
