2005 was pretty kick ass:

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo
Shadow Gallery - Room V
Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Riversider - Second Life Syndrome

But 2006 looks like its gonna rock as well

The Tangent - Place in the Queue
Tool - 10,000 Days
Devin Townsend - Synchestra
Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics
Flower Kings - Paradox Hotel

Not too shabby

At least so far, 2005 is the best.

the 1970's

-Progressive only existed in the early 70's

- evrything after that is just rock, metal , punk, alternative, grunge, newave music.

I'm glad I listen to alot of music with an open mind.

It must be terrible pigeon-holing yourself into one small genre of music.

And in all the genres you have listed there have been quite a few phenomonal albums by some great bands.

That's one of the most moronic posts I've read on this forum. I thought it was impossible to beat Oliver, let alone Philippe.

You managed it, congratulations.

I think 2005 went down as a banner year for prog.  Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Riverside, Dream Theater...whew.
Some world views are spacious, and some are merely spaced...

Many people are mentioning 2005 but not mentioning the albums which are the best from that year.

The Inconsolable Secret by Glass Hammer
Welcome Humans by Thirteen of Everything
Wanderlust by Little Atlas
Mimi's Magic Moment by Salem Hill
Fortunate Observer of Time by Frogg Cafe
? by Neal Morse

All are superior albums in my humble opinion and getting little mention. Just my $0.02.

I second that remark. I thought they were certain to have it out this year.
