Singer... but then I prefer no vocals to most vocalists, so this answer is pretty obvious for me.

It's a tough desicion for me. I really have not heard ANY band so far that a member has "killed it" or ruined it for me. EXCEPT for example, the singer for OPETH. I like thier music and everything, but I REALLY don't like growling vocals. I would probably have to vote singer then, though I enjoy almost any vocals such as James Labrie, Geddy lee and others people seem to hate. Though I play bass, I think the singers get the short end of the stick in this situation. Too bad people were as critical of the musicians as they are of the vocalists.

I vote for drummer, maybe 'cos I'm not familiar with drums playing enough. So I can't recognize all drumers mistakes in fact...

Singing definitely, if the vocals are consistently bad a record becomes unlistenable pretty soon.

Singers get a raw deal i think because I don't really care if a band has a great singer if they have good music also but bad singers get so agravating.

For me its a bad bass player that really erks me, but that would be because I am one (bass player I meanLOL). Bad vocals can get annoying but I can get passed them, for example I dont like Death Metal growls but I like Opeth because their music is so good. I aslo dont like Symphony X's last album to much because Micheal LePond was very boreing and uncreative on this album (hope he picks up on the new album).

Most problems I have with prog bands are either the singer can't hit a note or an appalling drummer - of which there are many.

Bassists that can't hold it down get on my nerves, but that may just be because I play bass.

A bad drummer can kill everything. Even if the vocals are bad, the music has a chance to save it.

I voted vocalist. I can only listen to Yes in small dosages because of Jon Anderson.
Donīt get me wrong I do like Yes, just those high vocals irritate me.

I vote for singer. But really, anyone in a band can screw up the listening experience.
But if I don't like the voice, the music can never be good. The vocals have to fit the music.
