The statement only proves that you don't know much about Tool (or more precisely: about how Tool relate to A Perfect Circle). |

I have listen to this whole album and I have to say I DON"T LIKE ONE SONG ON IT. I think TOOL should be put to rest and continue on with A PERFRECT CIRLCE.

It's totally unbelieveable that Tool would release a fake album... just
like it was unbelieveable that Tool would release a fake version of
Schism as a Radio Single for Lateralus.

Judging from the single, I thinkn it would probably be highly ranked

What? Oh my God... I just can't believe people think Tool would spend the time and money recording and promoting a decoy album, or that Maynard would put a 20 minute song about his mother on a decoy album.
This album has already been shipped and leaked again and again. God, I can't believe a few conspiracy theorists can gain so much ground in convincing people without any legitimate arguments.
I can't believe people have the balls to say Tool has not progressed. Danny is now using bells, tabla, bongo, electronic drumming, and special effects cymbals, and while that doesn't make the drumming more intricate, it adds tons of variety to it. Adam and Justin have gotten way more intricate with their playing, and Maynard is pulling tons of experimentation with his voice, which he had never really done before except on The Grudge. You can say you don't like the new album, but I doubt you can back up that they haven't changed or progressed.

Hard to say how high it will be ranked. I would expect it to be somewhere in the Top 100 but I don't expect to seriously see it in the top twenty...

It's not even as good as Lateralus --- probably because these tracks are nothing new and thus don't have much to offer.

Yeah, I'm jumping on the fake bandwagon.
Another thing, I read an interview with Adam a few days ago in which he said Jambi had distorted vocals. Now, I dunno what Jambi he's talking about, but the one that leaked sure doesn't have distorted vocals. Anyrate, I think this is Tool's greatest prank yet. When I first heard it, first thing I said was "No way... this has got to be a fake." The deeper I dig, the more likely my initial assumption seems to be. Sure, the "album" has some really good moments, but all in all... it lacks any drive and motivation. It seems to lack any cohesive effort... and after five years, I strongly doubt they'd release something with that little effort put into it. All in all, great prank. I'm busting a gut over it. Can't wait for the real thing. |

After reading the arguments I have pretty much changed my point of view 180 degrees and now believe that the "10,000 days" I possess is not really the Tool album. We'll just wait until the 2nd of May and see, personally I can wait.

I haven't downloaded and won't download the leak, so I'm not familiar with the new album, but I think Robertplantowns was right about the 'Octavarium Effect'... in more ways than one. Read this (I don't know the original source of this quote, I found it on the John Petrucci forum here: http://www.petrucciforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34056&page=6)

So if I wasn't disapointed by 10,000 Days then I'm an idiot? I'm sorry but I think its the perfect follow up.
Anyway I think this album is vastly different then Lateralus. Songs like Rosetta Stoned, Wings for Marie- don't sound anything like Lateralus. I can't agree that they haven't matured.

Actually I hoped that they would make an album similar to Lateralus ... something like a logical progression from Lateralus, but not too far from it.

It is not written anywhere, but in the many years since their last
release I expected them to mature at least a little bit, instead the
sound is the same as Lateralus without the driving heaviness.

As many people have said, this album seems like a giant step sideways
for Tool, they haven't really progressed much. Now that Maynard are the
gang are nearing their 50's and Tool releases a new album once every
ten thousand years it is doubtful we will see much more from them which
makes 10,000 Days a huge dissapointment for me and other Tool fans (the
tool fans that areb't idiots at least)
