To anyone whos heard this album, or parts of it, could you see this album in the top 20 ranked albums here on PA? Just curious. Might be too early to ask though

Here's a thought...
If it's a good album, it'll be highly ranked.
I personally can't imagine Tool putting out a bad album at this stage of their career.

I think we will see the same "Octavarium effect." Rabid fans will be the earliest ones to post reviews which will all be 5 stars and 10,000 days will shoot to the top of the list, but then as time passes and cooler heads prevail the album's newness will wear off and more people will give it reasonable reviews. Also since the amount of anti-Tools are about the same as anti-Dream Theaters, I think we can expect some 1s along with serious bashing of the album which will temper its rise up in the list. I haven't come to the opinion of whether this will be seen as a masterpiece, it certainly will by Tool fans and I think the album has strong chances of entering the top 100.

Considering how much people love Lateralus here, I can see it getting pretty high up there. I've heard it (listening to it a second time right now, actually) and I'd say it's on par with the last two.

Sure it will be highly ranked , but not because its good ... because its ' Tool' .... pretty immature really ... I refer to it as the Kiss with make up syndrome

PLEASE PEOPLE!!! I AM BEGGING YOU DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!  I really hope everyone stays cool about it, and only posts their reviews and positive/negative threads after listening carefully and thinking it all the way through. With albums this popular it is CRUCIAL that we do not let initial reactions and mob mentality cloud our actual opinions of the music. That said, the album is very good, and I think will earn a spot in the top 100 eventually, but I hope not immediately.

I've already given the album five listens and posted my text review of it. Most people base their negative reviews on one listen, so I think five is more than adequate to have determined I liked it.
I don't think it will get any higher than Lateralus here, although IMO it deserves top 10.

Well I'm uncool and listened the whole album and if Lateralus is highly ranked then 10 000 Days will be as well. Of course there will be people who hate it, but I think the majority will love it.

I don`t agree Tool ever deserve top ten for anything. They are only popular because they are popular , not because they write great CD`s , sure they may have one or two songs that are decent but that doesn`t make them King Crimson or Genesis , They remind me of the band Live , nobody could see fault with them till one day everybody changed their minds (sheep)

Try not to clutter the thread with unnecessary double posts. The topic's question is whether you think it will be highly ranked on the top 100.
