So, who here is also a Metal fan along with progressive rock?

Metal has some of the best musicians to offer, and some of the most interesting vocals, so I thought it deserved it's own fan thread.

My favorite metal bands are Mudvayne, Pantera, System of a Down, Machine Head, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage to name a few.

Who else likes metal, and who are your favorites?

I'm in my late 30s, long after I'm supposed to have stopped listening to metal, and I'm still heavily into it.

Listing what I'm into would take too damn long.

I really like metal, some of the non prog bands are:

Metallica (early) RULES, MAN!!, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, some of Maiden, Judas Priest, Cradle of Filth, Belphegor (), Anaal Nathrakh (), and many more....

But I don't like power metal like Rhapsody, Helloween, Stratovarius (a little), Blind Guardian, Hamerfall ....

My dad is forty nine and he is into metal big time.  Not the tame sh*t either, but the really heavy stuff like Mudvayne, Slipknot, Pantera and more.  He likes a ton of other stuff, and his favorite band is Yes.  I told him he needs to check this site out, he would fit right in.
