Tarkus for me too. I also have a weakness for "In the Wake of Poseidon", but I'd never say it was the best possible follow-up to the monumental ITCOTCK. How do you follow up such a masterpiece?

Images and Words. It's still widely held as their best, and WDADU as their worst. Can there possibly be a better follow up, contrast wise?

I totally agree with you. VdGG really found their sound on "The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other".
Other very good 2nd albums:
Can - "Tago Mago" (which they themselves counted as their 2nd album, because "Soundtracks" is just that, a collection of soundtracks that were originally not intended to be on an album).
Amon Düül 2 - "Yeti".
Guru Guru - "Hinten".
Embryo - "Embryo's Rache".
