Any and All Crimson Experts:

In the beginning of this Beat song, the trio supposed to be driving in a car. They then go up to a hotel room and...well...fill in the rest.  I have two questions: Is this song actually about a 3-way, or am I just interpreting it wrong? Second, is it autobiographical, meaning this actually happened to Belew or someone he knew? It's a bit intriguing.

Neal and Jack are Neal Casady and Jack Kerouac. Casady was the inspiration behind Kerouac's On The Road (in which he is portrayed as Dean Moriarty if I remember rightly) and the lyrics to Beat are heavily influenced by Beat generation writings, somehting which is achieved most successfully on Neurotica. I'm pretty sure that every song refers to Kerouac one way or another, but I haven't read that many of his books so I can't be sure.
'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom
