I listened to a few of there songs. They're in the same league as bands like My Chemical Romance and Falloutboy. Just emo with concept albums. Greenday made a concept album, but I don't see ayone getting them added. Same case with these guys.

The song structures are much more complex than My Chemical Romance ... or Green Day, for that matter. |

I agree Mike, they're better than My Chemical Romance, Greenday and all those awful bands, they're talented musicians and I think the concept is quite fun, but they're not prog. The artwork is great too and done by one of the band. So they're no slouches, I just don't think they're prog, that's all. I like a few tracks and that's all.

In my opinion it is music influenced by progressive rock, I should add them by prog related.

I understand what you're saying ... but prog related essentially means "not prog", doesn't it? |

Of course they are prog/art rock ... these guys takes these styles into the 21 century .. they have great melodies, fancy instrumental parts, cool incomrehensable storys ( just like Jon Andersson) .. and they shure know how to paint pictures with their music ...

I've said all I need to say in other threads. This band is prog. I go with Art Rock.

No, they're emo, not prog. Besides that I refuse to vote for a band that has an album with such a stupid title as "Good Apollo..."

i dont pretend to know as much about progressive music as, say Mikeenregalia, im a relative new comer to the prog scene. However, from what i do know these guys in Coheed and Cambria seem to fit the bill for art rock to a tee. i have two of their albums, Good Apollo, and in Keeping Secrets... both of which i enjoyed thoroughly and throuout was consatntly reminded of TMV. it took a while for it to grow on me, much as did pain of salvation, the mars volta and MANY other prog bands. they admittedly dont play strictly prog tho. they mix it instead with a few different styles, mainly punk (i dont get the emo tag) and a little metal heavily influenced by prog. They're a band on the cutting edge of music today. they dont fit into any one genre, they constantly push the envelope, and as one of you said, are no artistic slouches by any means. I believe it would be foolish of such a high quality and well respected archive such as this to blatently ignore a band that millions of people consider prog. At LEAST add them under the tag of prog related (the best nutral postion). Thanks, i sincerely hope the archives consider adding C&C to their extensive collection.
