I couldn't find a topic about this festival through the search, so here it goes. A topic about:
Arrow Rock Festival 2006 Every year the world's greatest names in rock history pay a visit to a Dutch place called Lichtenvoorde, for this festival, which will this year consist of 2 days. The complete line-up so far (I don't know if any bands will follow) is: Deep Purple Def Leppard Dio Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush George Thorogood & The Destroyers John Waite Journey Pavlov's Dog Porcupine Tree Queensrÿche Ray Davies Roger Waters (a 3 hour show, incl. complete DSOTM) Starsailor Status Quo Ted Nugent Uriah Heep Whitesnake If my financial status get's any better than it is right now, a friend and I are travelling to Lichtenvoorde this year. Oh man, how cool will it be to see Deep Purple, Dio, Queensrÿche etc.... The opportunity of a lifetime, if you ask me! And 3 hrs of Roger Waters.... Man! Any other Dutch people on this forum checking this one out? |

Whoops, and after 2 days I find the right section... Can a moderator move this topic to Live Performance Reviews? Maybe that's the place where there are some more people who are interested in this festival... |

Man Made God, perhaps this would be a good time for that "Exchange Program" you were talking about, hmmm?

Haha, this would indeed be the perfect weekend, I guess. I still haven't bought my ticket, but that isn't gonna take me much longer I guess. The more I think about the festival, the more I think: "this might be your only chance to see ... & ... & ..." Erik & KingKay: do you think any more bands will be added? And what's your no.1 'must-see'? |

Interesting notes! Last weekend I bought Made in Japan (didn't have it yet ) and I have to buy loads of albums before going to this festival! But it will be worth it, I'm sure. |

I didn't know Ray Davies was coming. Hard to stay away in that case. I have once seen a concert by him the man is not only a very good singer but also a great story teller with a great sense of humor. Third of may he plays in Vredenburg Utrecht.
Porcupine Tree is always very good. I have no idea about Deep purple and Rogers Waters at the moment though, are they still as good as they were in the past? |

Man Made God, you bought Made In Japan, what a discovery ! By the way, when I bought this album in the early Seventies my father was not pleased at all and he used to rush into my room screaming "stop that washing machine sound ..!" .... Anyway, a dream comes true when I see them on the Arrow Classic Rock festival !

Well, actually, I can't stand the studio-version of Child in Time. But on MiJ it just sounds much better, and all the other songs rock, so it was in the end a logical choice And I still haven't bought a ticket! By the way, I'm still wondering if any more bands will be announced...? |

I saw Deep Purple two years ago with Joe Satriani and they blew Satch off the stage. It was a great show, all members being very energetic and very much into it. I caught two guitar picks from bassist Roger Glover. I was in the second row. Ian Gillan sounded great as soon as he got warmed up, about one song. One of the best shows I've ever seen. You guys are so lucky. I've never seen Uriah Heep and would love to, along with Queensryche, Porcupine Tree, and Dio. Let us know how the show was and if anyone wants to trade places(countries) for a year with me, let me know.

There are two original members in Pavlov's Dog. David Surkamp, the voice and the heart of Pavlov's Dog and Mike Safron is the beat and the backbone, and founder of the band, is there on drums. The reviews from Germany last year were fantastic. This is an unbelieveable chance to see this band, one I won't miss!! |
