Yay, someone finally mentioned Gryphon(although I was thinking "raindances"). I don't know "midnight mushrumps" though so I'll add it to my list. ;)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Camel's "harbour of tears" cd. I find snowgoose and even dust and dreams to be too uplifting although admittedly they both have mellow moments and are both great albums(both in at least my top twenty of all time too :)) .

A big thank you to all of those who recommended albums. Quite honestly I'm not sure where some of you were coming from with some of these recommendations but the rest of you can pat yourselves on the back. O.K. All of you can pat yourselves on the back. At least you made the effort right?  Now someone go mention Celeste's "principe di un giorno" album for the third time.

It was mentioned before, but Harmonium's album "Si on avait besoin d'une cinqueme saison" is one of the best mellow prog-folk albums ever.

You should try Ere G's Au-delŕ des Ombres. It's not as good (obviously), but it's pretty similar to Harmonium.

I second Jimbo's recommendation of Ere G as being of a similar nature to Harmonium. Definitely worth a listen.

I'd also throw in to this thread - for your general consideration.....

  • Satellite - A Street Between Sunrise And Sunset
  • Lyle Mays - Lyle Mays
  • Rain - Cerulean Blue
  • Nick Magnus - Hexameron
  • Various Artists - New Age Babel
  • XII Alfonso - The Last Frontier
  • Dave Bainbridge - Veil Of Gossamer
  • Vangelis - Themes
  • no-man - Together We're Stranger
