Threshold - but what a difficult choice. Ayreon was 0.00001 behind them and DT the same. PoS, Kamelot and Savatage also up there

Tough Question if were are talking about just currently id say Opeth, but if we are taking their whole career into consideration id have to say Dream Theater.

As I said at the start of this Poll only 25 bands could fit .. sure bands like Evergrey and Spiral Architect deserve to be here but unfortunately I couldn`t fit them in and still maintain a nice even spread of diverse prog metal trends reflective and useful for collecting the right information on how prog metal relates to prog rock (which is what I`m trying to understand here) ... some bands had to be sacrificed , and I regret that as wel l... sorry again

Rush are one of my favourite bands I even consider them to be one of the first true prog metal bands and definatly desearve to be on the list. But I feel that bands like Rush and Dream Theater will always run away with all the votes and ruin things as far as research information goes. Its the problem with all these Polls, mention certain bands in the poll and the data you get back is un reliable. Stll I knew what would happen when I mentioned DT in the poll but I can`t help but wonder what people who voted DT`s second preferance would have been ? and I`m sure if I mentioned Rush they would have probably been very stong in the poll as well

Even being an "old guy stuck in the 70s" I know and listen to almost all listed bands (thanks also to my 15 yo son). My vote goes to Symphony X, followed by Opeth and Angra.
