Best Yes song? That's sort of like picking a favorite child (David, 2nd oldest). I'd have to go with The Ritual - Nous Sommes Du Soleil. So many great moments in that song.

"Best" again, eh? Then it has to be "YOU AND I AWAKEN CLOSE TO THE HEART OF THE PARALLEL GATES OF STARSHIP AMERICA TO BE OVER PERPETUAL RITUAL DISGRACE."
Always really liked that one!
Others equally well too....

My personal favourite is Siberian Khatru. Sounds less complex at first than the other tracks on CTTE but after repeated listenings, for me its the track that offered them most opportunity to head in a new direction, whereas instsead we got "obese son of CTTE" in Tales. |
Less complex, its in 17/18 time, I didn't know that was possible

Best song: Owner of a Lonely Heart (ha ha!)
Or maybe Lift Me Up? Or maybe Changes played live, with Jon Anderson in a short-styled hair and makeup, prancing and shimmying around the stage like an elf.
Oh, the guys in Yes. Do they really take themselves seriously? They should have called it quits after the Drama album, while they still had some dignity.

Good question, but hard to answer... i dont think Yes are the sort of band one masterwork, rather they have several milestones.
My favourite songs of the earydays have to be 'No oppertunity neccessary', 'Time and a word', 'Beyond and before' and 'Something's Coming'
From the mid era, I like Heart of the Sunrise, Southside of the Sky, Round About and all the tracks on CTTE
After CTTE, Their best works came in the form of 'Turn Of the Century' 'Going For The one' and 'To Be Over'.
If i had to choose just one it may have to be 'Turn of the Century'.
