Pretty wide. I play keyboards in a prog-ish band and trombone in a ska band, if that's any indication :P.

I guess narrow. I like all subgenres of prog, but most non prog music puts me to sleep(except classical). In comparison, there's much more punk(), hard rock, pop, and metal bands then there are prog. So an average rock fan would consider me close minded.

I am really wide. (You know, this thread does have a certain provocative appeal to it)

My collection includes anything from MF Doom (hip-hop) to Dave Brubeck to De Facto (Dub music) to The Mars Volta. Also, a few ethnic bands, some more modern jazz, and a fair amount of pop-rock (such as Lost Prophets, Saves the Day, System of a Down, etc.)

I think the largest genre in my collection is definitely prog, though. A lot of classic prog, a lot of modern prog (prog-metal, neo progressive, etc) and a fair bit of post-rock. So I'd say I'm pretty wide, as it were.
Go and listen to my music.

Prog, classic rock, singing poetry, Russian rock, some old pop (ABBA, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Sinatra,...), sometimes jazz, blues, rock'n'roll (mostly Elvis) and classic music.

That's a good question.... I would also say narrow, but making progress. I usually listen to metal at least 75% of the time, but lately I've been starting to pay more attention to classical (IE: Beethoven... I know many would argue that he was a romantic, but let's not start that) and especially jazz fusion (Al Di Meola, Allan Holdsworth, and Shawn Lane).

Edit: Oh yeah, and of course I listen to prog rock and blues/hard rock, lol. And even a little bit of soul... like Marvin Gaye. But it's still metal most of the time, for me.

An average person would call me close minded.Only prog and classical are the styles of music that I really love and maybe jazz. There are bands, artists from other genres who I like, but I could live without them.

I don't consider myself close minded. Prog, jazz and classical  offer more diversity than all other genres together.

Even subgenres could be very diverse. For instance Yes, VDGG and Genesis are very different altough all are listed as symponic prog.

WIDE

Music is just music to me....as a musician, and hell, just as any appreciator of the arts...if you can't find one single thing to latch onto and say you liked about something then you're in it for the wrong reasons.   It's much easier to be negative than positive.
