I can translate some Sigur Rós songs for ya if you like.

Here's a direct translation of Flugufrelsarinn (Fly Liberrator) from Ágætis Byrjun (A good start).

Original:

Hamagangur, ég þusti nyður að læknum, bjargvættur.
Ég gerði skip tilbúið og fór með littla bæn því ég var hræddur.
Sólin skein og lækurinn seytlað.
Sóley -sóley flugurnar drepast.
En í dag á ég að bjarga sem flestum flugum.
Með spotta í skip ég er með í hvorri hendi - ákveðinn.
Ég kasta þeim út í hylinn og reyni að hala flugurnar inn áður
en seiðin ná til þar sem þær berjast við strauminn og vatnið.
Þannig líður dagurinn.
Sjálfur kominn um borð, var farinn að berjast við bæjarlækinn
sem hafði þegar deytt svo margar.
Ég næ ekki andanum og þyngist við hverja öldu.

Translated:

Chaos, I went down to the lake, savior.
I made a ship redy and said a little prayer for I was scared.
The sun shone and the lake sprinkled.
Buttercup -buttercup the flies die.
But today I'm supposed to save as most flies.
With rope to ship I have in both hands -determined.
I cast them out into the pool and try to bring the flies in before
the fingerlings get to them were they fight the stream and the water.
So goes the day.
Gotten myself on board, had begun to fight the town lake
witch had killed so many.
I can't catch my breath and get heavier by every wave.
I need a miracle for I am drowning sins.
I try to get on board. I pull to shore therefore I save
myself back to the waterside.
On a hot rock I lie and dry again.
I cast myself to the pool and try to bring the flies in before
the fingerlings get to them were they fight the stream and the water.
Gust, all dripping wet.
Bold finds how the boat is past most of the stream
and the shore gradually closed in.
Him both on board in sea and shore saves the flies that
die here.
Bust mostly himself
Endless war and no peace.
But some one has to sacrifice oneself.
The days are long.

You're welcome . I too had long been intrigued with the lyrics in foreign )to me) languages.

I'm also interested in the lyrics of south-american prog groups like Agnus and Bacamarte to name a few. I know a little Spanish so I might see if I can understand it. I speak French as well but I am not able to translate any french songs sadly, although I'll see what I can do, maybe Ange, Atoll, and Maldoror).

Great, Thanks alot. I'll see what song I need assistance and I'll tell you. ANyway I was thinking of creating a sort of request list for song translations of people, though I'm not too sure how to do it yet and it should be.

So does anybody have any request? (even from English to another language - we can track a member who can do it).

Does anyone have the original Swedish lyrics for Anglagard - Jordrök?  In particular for Kung Bore?  It's purely singing along purposes... I know, it's sad, but that's me!

The english translation of "Vandringar i vilsenhet", "Ifrån klarhet till klarhet" and "Kung Bore" (which were all originally written by Tord Lindman) was the work of Hans C. Larsson and Sandy Santra, with modifications by Ron Chrisley and Jonas Mellin. Sandy writes: "In some cases, I have made some guesses as to meaning. These words are in brackets. The lyrics were translated by Hans C. Larsson, and he deserves much thanks in this, but there were places that did not even make sense to him, so I have taken "artistic license" on account of being an "educated writer of the English language" (please, no flames!) and done what I can to make sense where it seemed lacking. If I am wrong or have badly botched it, so be it! I am the first to admit error. The first song is particularly difficult for me to understand; I had to give up on it and mostly let it be."
The poems to "Rösten" (The Voice) and "Sista somrar" (The Last Summer) were written and translated by Rut Hillarp. "Gånglåt från Knapptibble" received a tentative translation from Petter Sundlöf. He and Henrik Johansson played a key role in transcribing the lyrics of that song. The remaining poems were snatched from the wind. Those poems were translated by Christian Holmgren.
