Warchild 2 is like a classic Tull album, but Warchild 1 is like a decent/slightly disappointing album. But Tull were definately among the best prog heavy rock bands in 1974. Maybe the best. But the song choice was not very smart for the Warchild album release 1974. I think it spoilt the bands reputation. They should have released all the bonus songs, they were heavy and powerfull and more prog definately

It would have been cool if the Warchild movie starring John Cleese was released. I guess the band left certain songs off the album, because it was supposed to be a soundtrack and the other songs didn't suit the movie. But the movie never was released, so a double album would have been cool. I'm still waiting for the release of the 2 unreleased Warchild songs Beaches 1 and Beaches 2.

I'd much rather have the full album as it was originally intended (double Lp) with the tracks present on the Chateau D'Ysaster (named after the studio in France Chateau d'Herouville where the wkole thing fell apart) double record. This was temptatively the soundtrack for the movie (if memory serves)

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Albums are about releasing the strongest bunch of songs a band can offer in a session. But Tull probably released 3 of the best 10 songs on Wachild. Tull did the same with about 15 of their albums ;). All 15 albums were missing great songs which were better than half of the songs on the album
