I'm putting in my vote for Geddy. I think he's an amazing vocalist. His voice is unique, what can you say!

Geddy Lee is totally unique of Burke Shelley indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr Erg!

Only person i think sounds like geddy at times is the singer of supertramp, he had geddy's 80's sound before geddy did himself

for those who care, Ronnie Montrose in available for
discussion thru his website. Music From Here is an
incredible contribution to rock music, a 90s version
of Blow by Blow from the guitar wizard.

Voted PG!
It was a tough choice, though. I like Jon Andersons voice a lot, and Hammills, and Geddy Lees, and Phil Collins..AND Greg Lake (although I'm not an ELP fan)
I tried to make my choice on the quality of the voice rather than which bands I like.
and to whoever said Justin Hayward deserved a mention, I couldn't agree more. He had a fantastic voice. Didn't rate the Moody's much though..

Not a single female singer in the poll!!
I know there are not many, but Annie Haslam should get a mention. I'm just exploring Renaissance albums at the moment, and I'm quite blown away by her voice.

I voted for Anderson (nobody can sing like him), but then I realised that there is another criteria I find most fitting for choosing the best between equally interesting performers: The thing is that Hamill, Anderson, Gabriel, Lee... they are all good, but can also be annoying to many people (I like Gabriel and Anderson, but can't stand Hamill or Fish. I'm in no-man's land for Lee). But I doubt anybody wouldn't like Greg Lake.
So, Greg Lake is my ideal prog singer.

Fish?!! Those scaly, slimy, sneaky, bottom-feeding piscatory prey? For shame!
What about us fine feathered folk?

Out of this list I'd have to vote for Peter Hammill.
But to me the greatest vocalist has to be Comus' Roger Wootton.
