'ear' for rythm or melody!

You could disagree with not liking Fripp's rythm or melody (I didn't like it at
first either) but you can't say that he plays out of tune. Believe me, Fripp
knows what he's doing when it comes to the guitar. I've read a lot of Fripp's
theory of how he plays and from his responses, ear training is what he
values very highly. He wouldn't play out of tune.

Well, it is IMPOSSIBLE to pick one over the other.

Fripp's guitar playing is all over the place, he doesn't give a crap about rythm or melody.....but there is something very compelling about his noisy guitar work.

Howe is very precise, and melodic. He plays lines that are very impressive the moment you hear them. Fripp's guitar work takes longer to appreciate.

Both go for completely different things. However, they are both equally talented. If you don't think Fripp is up there with Howe, then listen to Fracture, or Fracktured, and he'll show you howe it's done.

Both Are Extremely Gifted Guitarists. But I Think Steve Howe Has A Wider Range, And He Can Easily Be As Aggressive As Fripp, Have You Heard Relayer!! But Also His Acoustic Showcases Are Very Exciting, The Clap For Example. 

Both guitarists are very exceptional, but my vote goes to Mr. Fripp because his overall style is unlike any other guitar player I have heard.

Yes, I am referring to his post 74' output! Fripp was alright when he had a songwriter in the band, ie. Macdonald, Lake, Giles, Wetton. These knew about the craftsmanship in songwriting. When Fripp dosn't have a songwriter his playing is erratic, tuneless and amateurish!
