I love em all, but I have had to go with Led Zep...
...if you'd have asked me when I was 15 tho...it would have been Black Sabbath all the way...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Zep. I was at Knebworth in 78 and Led Zep were dots on the horizon I was so far away, but they were terrific. Loved their early stuff.
Never liked Sabbath or purple really.

Led Zeppelin
- They made the anthem of Rock.
- They've got an incredible singer.
- They've got an even more incredible guitar player (ever seen anybody else play guitar with a fiddlestick).
I bet there's more to say about them but can't recall anything right now...

Now, if you add URIAH HEEP as someone suggested, I wouldn't have any doubts, not only great music, but very proggy also.
But still Lord's keyboards are outstanding.

Sabbath: the first three albums are just miracles!!! They created metal..... I mean just listen to the song Black Sabbath. Not even Ac/Dc had so much power coming out from just three chords. I saw them this summer. I can't belive it yet....... Real KINGS!!!
Led Zeppelin: mabye its just me but I can't find two songs which sound the same.I mean not just a bit!!! Realy f#cking creative!!! Bonham is also one of my favourite drummers ever (RIP)..... Would love to see them live......Dont think its possible
Deep Purple: I saw them this summer too. They were just amazing!!! Had never liked them because I had mostly heard Smoke On The Water which in my opinion is awfull compared to the other INCREDIBLE pieces they have. Oh and Steve Morse is AMAZING! Didnt expect him to be so good....
So my vote goes to..................................
I think I'd better not vote

Black Sabbath rules period...
Led Zeppelin-boring, does very little for me....
Deep Purple-great, but nowhere near Sabbath for my taste....

My vote goes to sabbath by quite a wide margin.
They single handedly defined an entire genre, and they are easily the most influential band in this list. I like both the others, but I have never been able to get into them the way I've been into sab for so many years. I have never really been much of a Zep fan, as I never thought Page was all that great and Plant is sort of a w**ker (though bonham was an amazing drummer). Black Sabbath was a powerhouse through and through (Ozzy years only!).
Speaking of, why is Ozzy a b*****d? for being such a drug addled old man he really has a big heart.
