Is it? Where?

There's some "...And Justice for all" vibe to "This Dying Soul", so the graduates of the What Some Bloke in the Pub Told Me University and the Hear One Riff You Know The Whole Album Conservatory are perfectly justified in their opinion.
|
I'll check that track again so I can here this rip off!

There's a quotation from "Blackened" in the vocal melodies somewhere in the middle.
There's also a famous quotation from Baudelaire's "Au lecteur" in Eliot's "The Wasteland". So "The Wasteland" is a copy of "Au lecteur", then?

Really great album. As a fan of both progressive rock and metal it
really appeals to my taste, it gives Dream Theater the excuse to be a
wank/shred fest. Although I like to consider it a one time deal and
expect more clever songwriting from their other material.

I am a huge dream theater fan but train of thought is by far the worst album they have made. The only song that keeps my attention for the entire song is sot and thats only sometimes and vacant would have been great if labrie didnt ruin it so i wouldnt say i hate it but i dislike it quite a bit.

I only checked it out recently and thought it was only OK. I thought 'As I Am' and the instrumental track to be the most interesting songs. I'll give it a few more spins to see if it grows on me further.

Yes, indeed it is better than Octavarium : DT do on this album a good combination of metal and prog and there are no filler.

I've been to their Train of thought -tour concert in Rotterdam and
played live the songs are so much more powerfull then on the album,
they also played some ToT this year on the Octavarium tour concerts in
Amsterdam.
After hearing the songs played live I started to "love" this album.

Their worst that I have, by far. And I have seven of their studio albums.

I like it but don't love it and is not as bad as the review say.
Although it is more heavy than previous works, and I really like DT for
their good vibe like in I&W, SFAM and SDOIT, I found it like they
where trying to balance out their work because SDOIT was almost always
soft and then TOT was super heavy. I look at it as a team between the
soft SDOIT with the hard TOT.

Speaking of trains, can we get off this loving or hating train?
There's lots of levels to appreciate music on, but hating isn't
really one of them. I mean, not counting Britney Spears.
