I'm not too sure about this one, as Philips used the blue label into the early 1970s in Europe, but released some albums on the black label as early as 1967.

For example, Blue Cheer's "Vincebus Eruptum" (1967) was released on black in the UK and blue in Holland.

So it's very probable that the Danish FP was on the blue label, but equally probable that the UK press was on black.

Sorry I can't be more definite - I'm not even au fait with Philips' matrix numbers - but those might give you a clue: If the matrix (in the run-out towards the label) ends -1 on both sides, then chances are very good that it's a FP.

Cover printers can be useful identifiers too - a Garrod and Lofthouse cover could indicate an early package on an LP from 1970, but an E J Day cover nails it as a first press just about every time (with exceptions, as ever...).

However, all the late 1960s Philips pressings I own do not give credit to the cover printers - and all are black labelled UK pressings.

I hope someone else has the definitive answer

I found this info on the internet, the issue I have is the one mentioned first, French pressing on the blue label, but without the sticker (unfortunately)

Here are the (seemingly unlogical) matrix numbers:

Side 2: 6311022 2 380 03950012

side 3: 6395002 1 = D1 + 380

side 4: 6311023 2 380 6395002

(the combinations 6311022 (on side 1 & 2) and 6311023 (on side 4) seem to be crossed, each individual number is marked by a cross, as if it may be a misprint?)    

It seems pretty likely that I have the first issue
