Ewww! Way back when I used to run a record store, he used to drop in and give us singles to play. Unlistenable crap. I wasn't surprised when he died. One of my employees (who was in a band listed in Progarchives) loved those singles.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I'd vote for the 3-man version of Genesis.
I mean, they recorded crap like "Invisible Touch" and "I Can't Dance" and publicly presented it as music. That tooks balls! Almost like Bush lying to the country and pretending there was a reason for the war against Iraq.

For me The Mother of Invention, I haven't heard any other band that make fun of their own music (i.e. in the middle of an instrumental jam or great symphonic interlude the guys stop playing and scream PEEP!! POOAHH!!!) That was very stupid but funny though.

Don't go there! That statement is horse patooey.
Now, I agree with your assessment of the 3-man version of what used to be Genesis.

GWAR
for sure, without a doubt, not my cup-o-tea but i have some friends who
love them and go concerts. They come back with their skin and hair
stained with fake blood for days, and they decapitate "Bush" at every
show, what more could you want for your money!

From these I would choose Iggy.
Counting Crows is also a pretty starnge band, well, the singer that is.
He once did an entire show (in the Netherlands) from underneath the
piano, the guy was terrified to show himself or whatever.

I admit , zappa and the mothers, such a crazy genius ...
Although not insane , grobschnitt show's are kind of funny too ( I have a video of a solar music concert) and it's quite funny those roadies that go up on stage with they're scarecrows and light everything with they're fire sticks
Magma too for sure, these weird black costumes sooo strange

Wild Man Fischer is a good call although a very sad one. I get the feeling Zappa was manipulating the poor fellow but I could be wrong. Fisher was clinically ill, probably schizophrenic. I wouldn't necessarily call what he did 'music'. More like an insane vaudeville act.
My vote goes to the Magic Band circa 1969-1970.

actually GG allen used to eat his own poop on stage, and he requested all who attend his funeral beat his corpse.
and you guys also failed to mention the fact that one of the members of mayham murdered another and made a necklace from a peice of his skull, and then another member murdered him and went to jail. He then escaped jail but was caught again. The resaon the killed each other was because they thought one another was surpassing them in evil.
