Jesus.  That makes me look like a radical left-wing zealot.  Pretty scary dude.  I think that puts you just to the right of Mussolini.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

It was a progressive change.  The latest work I've read was Plato's Republic, and in my philosophy class the other day, i realized I am really a support of a more socialist/communist form of goverment/economics.

Just out of curiosity (and a bit of boredom) I tried it again to see if I would get the same answers and profile six months later!!

My old score:

Sean Trane
Economic Left/Right: -5.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.67

My new Score:

Sean Trane
Economic Left/Right: -5.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.41

So it looks like I am stable at being unstable!

Not to surprised, it's frighteningly accurate, actually.

This looks like further proof that the test is a skewed at least 2points to Economic Left/Right though ... can you imagine this is the score of a Berlusconi supporter!

Hi Martin,

do not rub it in!!

I am the one who asked him to take the test! I was pretty sure of the results!! but I wanted to have confirmation! Sorry Andrea

He was quite surprised by the results, to which I told him that most of us found it to correspond accurately to the facts or what we thought of ourselves!!

So this is why I think that I was right in challenging him about his Berlusconi support in your World Leaders thread!!!

I could read in the man's posts (and not just in his political ones) that he was more of a centrist than a right-winger!!

His wish for peace and demoacracy is justified and personify his generous ideals and I thank him for being himself and still believe strongly in those ideals!!

____________________________________________________________ __________

Simply my ideals , i still believe into them , but have not much faith that they will come true one day because I do not trust the people in power! The ones who really have generous ideals generally get shot down by the ones running for power and money!

This is why Chavez gets so much interference from his oligarchy and Bush,  and Lula will soon find the same experiences.

Those people are fighting for the lower rung of society ladder (Chavez gets massive support from Amerindians who have been getting the short end of the stick for so many centuries) and Lula gets major support from the favellas

That's why in Kirklott's thread about Christians and Bush, I joked with Andrea about being a Christian Democrat who has had to turn to Berlusconi ... maybe that was even more accurate than I thought ...

As for Chavez, Lula and anyone who starts off fighting for justice, the odds are staked against them ... to tell the truth ... I am just a broken-hearted leftist ... which is sad at 32, but perhaps understandable considering I have been very political since I was 14.

Hey Martin,

Don't give up! I started in Politics as a young activist with 16 just when you were born and I still have hopes... maybe for my grandchildren!

Thomas Payne, an American Revolutionary (although born in England) said that all Organized Government is a theft; I agree with him. Here in Brazil we say that the country grows by night when the government staff goes to sleep

The matter is: how can we reach the point to live without a Government?

Berlusconi's party "Forza Italia" is a centre-right party!

That's what Italy need, nowadays!

When I told to Hughes I was so surprised in seing my political compass test on left wing, I was just kidding (, sorry Hughes) because I knew that the image of Berlusconi is not what he really is. I've repeated before he has similarities with Bettino Craxi, leader of the destroyed (by extreme left which IS simply LEFT in Italy) modern socialist party! That's why, it seems a paradox to discuss with me when I support Berlusconi and at the same time I'm a centrist! To be real centrist in Italy is nowadays just to be with the centre-right wing!

I'm sorry for my awful english! It's not so simple speaking of such difficult arguments, but I hope you understand (or you try, at least) my thoughts!!

Right party allied to Berlusconi is Alleanza Nazionale (Gianfranco Fini's leader).

Centre party allied to Berlusconi is UDC (Christians Democrats Union - Pierferdinando Casini's leader).

Another important ally to Berlusconi is Lega Nord, which is difficult to classify. It's not a traditional italian right party. In a past legislature (1995-1996) Lega Nord was allied to the left wing. Massimo D'Alema (leader of the greatest left italian party - Democratici di Sinistra) defined Lega Nord as the left wing's rib!! In my opinion Lega Nord is a (new kind of) right party, yet!

P.S. Bill Gates is currently a communist!!!

Oh that was a joke?!?!

Good one!!

Reminds me when Chirac actually dead seriously told journalists that just because he was physically standing on the right of Bill Clinton did not make him Attila The Hun!

I thought Clinton was about to roll on the ground in laughter

Moments such as those actually make me realize that politics are also humans
