Ditto, there's almost no fusion players except Stanley Clarke on the list.
Where's Alphonso Johnson, Miroslav Vitous, Jeff Berlin? Percy Jones (Brand
X) doo-doos on just about anyone on the list.

Good point, what does Squire or Geddy Lee do in a fusion list?

But Wetton or Rutherford??????

All amazing players but not related with Jazz/Fusion at all. Unless you don't see as Prog/Fusion like an independant Prog genre.

Iván

I meant progressive rock and jazz fusion...I was not aware that prog/fusion in itself was a specific genre.

Cos his handshake keeps slipping
My hopes keep on dipping
And his lips keep on smiling all the time

I would have to say Geddy Lee, though I haven't heard a lot of the bassists in
this poll, I don't really know how accurate my vote is.
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

My favorite bassists are Geddy Lee, Jaco, Geezer Butler, Victor Wooten, Cliff Burton, and Les Claypool.  So I voted for Ged!

No, but it's an specific sub-genre of  Prog ( http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_LIS T.asp?style=30 ), so a better question would have been who's your favorite Prog bassist because this involves Prog/Fusion also.

Just being specific.

Iván

But still I believe Randy "The Emperor" Jackson should be on the list.
