I think this album has been overhyped! The growling vocals ruin what could have been just a decent album IMHO! |

The new Van der graaf album, Present, is great.
I also love Mindrevolutions by Kaipa, but the rewievs on PA isn't that great. The Inconsolable Secret by Glass hammer is another great album. But for me there is only one must-have album this year, and that is Hinterland by wobbler |

It is said to be the first Test-pressing of the corean release??

Shadow Gallery- Room V Dream Theater- Octavarium John Petrucci- Suspended Animation Coheed and Cambria- Good Morning Apollo, I'm burning star IV Pagan's Mind- Enigmatic Calling The Mars Volta- Francis the Mute Kamelot- The Black Halo (its the second half of the story started in Epica) And I'll add one even though it was released late last year but is still a kick ass album: Subsurface by Threshold.

My current favourite for 2005 is Aries- what a gem. The theatrical vocals of Simona Angieloni playing against the raw guitar of Fabio Centarini, entwined together with flutist Carlo Barreca. This is a brilliant composition by Fabio Zuffanti. Italian stuff usually doesn't grab me, but this one did.

Takk... is alright, if you like Sigur Ros. When I get Pepper's Ghost, The Dreams of Men and Believe, I will probably give my vote to them. |

Maybe this is because it really isn't that Italian although it does have some of that distinct Italian sound as well. For me the foreign influence is the reason why I can't enjoy this album as much as many other contemporary Italian bands. Still, it is a good album. |
