A warning to anyone thinking of ordering CDs from this website, either directly or through Amazon.
I ordered 2 Renaissance CDs from them over 2 weeks ago with 3-7 days quoted for delivery. I have not received the CDs and, despite me sending them a number of e-mails querying the order, I have had just one reply saying I would receive a notice about the order on Monday (i.e. yesterday), but I didn't receive the notice. The only thing they've done so far is charge my credit card for the CDs! This may be an isolated incident but just beware. They are also known as plattenladen.com. |

You should wait a little while longer ... the 3-7 days are normally business days.

You're right, but it's been 12 business days so far. What really annoys me is that they don't reply to my e-mails. |

^ they are busy. Replying to emails takes time and reduces the profit ... those stores can't afford to engage in email communication about 2 CDs. I made approximately 150 online orders for CDs so far ... and they all went well. Some (about 5%) couldn't send the CD for some reason (out of stock mostly), but I always got my money back. |

The other sh*tty thing they have done is take money out of your account
well before shipping your CD's, which I feel is very unprofessional.
Thanks for that info. one to avoid I feel. |

Being busy is not much of an excuse Mike. When they have accepted my order and taken the money, they should at least spend a couple of minutes to tell me when (or if) I'm going to receive them. It's basic customer service. If they can't supply the CDs they should just tell me (and stop advertising them on Amazon). |

^ I know how you feel ... I can just say that from my experience such delays are common and don't mean that your money is lost. BTW: I'm currently trying to buy Shpongle CDs and two merchants have offered those, accepted my money and then refunded me within two weeks, stating that their suppliers failed to get them those CDs. The waiting sucks ... |

Yeah, that's the problem. Every day I come home from work thinking "maybe my CDs have arrived", and there's nothing. I must admit I haven't ordered that many CDs over the Net, so maybe I was spoiled by my last order from [email protected] - my Glass Hammer CD arrived in a few days, nicely packaged with a hand written note from Will. That's what I call service. |

I can only recommend Caiman ... one click order, CD is in the mailbox 7-10 days later.

^^ Just wait, and when your CD's have arrived, inform them via phone or a paper letter, that you concidered their lack of responses to your emails unkind, and you will change your CD-dealer. Don't order from there anymore. If the CD's don't arrive in, say about four to six weeks, start taking further actions. Can anybody suggests, what persons living in UK can do, if they should be mistrated by a legimate company in such case? I still believe this won't be neccesary! They'll arrive, but late...

I hope it works out for you, Chopper. So far I have only ordered CD's from CDON.COM which is a Swedish net-store. The bill is sent along with the CD´s, which is ideal, really. Sooner or later, though, I will have to start ordering CD's from various companies with my VISA, seeing as the albums that I keep adding to my wishlist are increasingly rare... |

They've just e-mailed me to say "a replacement shiping has been send out at the 11th
of October and should get to you soon now."
Strange, as I wasn't aware one had been sent in the first place. I'm not holding my breath but hopefully I'll be able to sample the joys of Renaissance soon. Thanks to you all for your comments. |

Hi Chopper, don´t worry you´ll receive the cds sooner or later. Don´t forget that we´re all at the mercy of the postal services By myself I can only recommend SYN-PHONIC for their reliable, not-so-expensive and specially FAST service: I got today 2 CDs that have ordered last Saturday!! Hard to believe, right? less than 3 business days from USA to Portugal!!!! |

Oh me of little faith, the CDs have arrived! Well done to those of you who said they would. It looks like the reason for the delay is that they have come from Germany when Amazon said they would be a UK delivery. I can live with the disappointment of them being late, but why couldn't the supplier have sent me an e-mail saying "sorry your goods are late, but we've had to get them from Germany"? My anger with them stems largely from the fact that they take so long to reply to my e-mails. Anyway, tomorrow is officially declared Renaissance day! |

I'm a software developer and know a thing or two about internet shops. Trust me: For low-price narrow-margin commodities like music CDs it is not possible to engage in manual communication with customers over something like delivery delays. If the merchant did this, he would not make profits - he would have to increase the price for the CDs (so people wouldn't buy them anymore). Have fun with the albums!

http://synphonic.8m.com/index.htm No such problems with Greg Walker! I am a good customer and I even get the Cds before I paid him and we are 5000 miles apart! And I get them within the week if I order on Monday! But I am a good customer that he can trust! |

If you don't look after your customers though, they will go elsewhere (like me). |

You won't find many international CD shops that are both cheap and customer friendly (in the sense of personal email communication). If you find one ... please tell me about it! BTW: I really recommend Caiman ... check them out (they run shops with Ebay and the Amazon marketplace). |
