bass and vocals in a non-prog band, though prog is my first love. I'm writing however and informally working with a few other guys on the songs. I also play guitar, drum a bit and am learning keys now.

I used to play in few jazz-rock bands but the closest Icame to playing in a "prog" band is when I filled in for a few gigs with a Black Sabbath cover band. They had a female vocalist who did a pretty good Ozzy and she was just about as f**** up. This was years ago and all I really remember is being extremely wasted at the end of each gig.

I play guitar and bass, a tiny bit of keys (onloy on my own stuff). I released an all-instrumental CD in 2002 called "Tales From The Inflatable Forest" on my own Owl Sounds label. Here's the site: www.geocities.com/theowlwatches

Aha! So that's why you wanted to know if anyone here was in a band! Just to promote your own album. No, seriously, sounds interesting. Is there a sample anywhere, so we can check it out?

There is: www.geocities.com/owlsounds/owlsamples.html I also played in a band called Tony Island (as a bassist) that was a wacked mix of funk, biting Zappa-esque satire, early Yes and a dose of the blues. The instrumentation was Tony Island: Keys, vocals, woodwinds Tom Scotto: Drums, Percussion and little 'ol me on bass plus a few Special Guest Villains, 'er we mean musicians. We managed to get a CD out before quetly dissolving (Tony relocated to upstate NY). It was great while it lasted though, the gigs were fun and we dropped some jaws.

I've downloaded six samples, and they're very short, but and it sounds interesting! Although I don't know much about guitars, I can hear on the sample of "The Journey Begins" that you can play very well! |

I play in a non-prog band. We sound like Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and T-
Rex...all at once. |

just formed a two-man-formation with my hardrockin amigo. we are working on an album. our band has the project name ars magna (for it is an anagram of the word anagrams meaning great art). since there are just two of us we have to do all the instruments together. but i mostly play the guitar and bass. would be really cool to see our name on this site in the future hahaha

I've been playing guitar for 15 years now, but ( right now I'm also in the band of a "theatrical company" (is that correct?), we used to perform "The Rocky Horror Show", it was great fun, now we're rehearsing for JCS, and I can't wait to get on stage..... keep yourself free for October/November, we'll be in theatres!!! I used to be the lead singer and keyboard player in a band called The Mistake Museum
We did a lot of cover work (Elton John, The Beatles, Genesis, Emerson Lake & Palmer, King Crimson) plus a good deal of self-written material. The group started as a trio, then developed into a foursome...then another foursome and then to the only two members which persisted through all revolving door process: the drum player and me! We haven't performed much live...but we recorded a lot on a 8-tracks analog recorder! Now I have gone solo and I record digitally on my home PC. |

I play bass in a retro psychedelia band. We have even had few gigs, and some weird persons seemed to enjoy our music!

Yes, I'm in a Jam band. But soon I'll be forming a progressive rock band. Anybody from London Ontario who plays prog guitar?

Singer and drummer/percussionist of the "Bald Angels". I also write the lyrics. My wife Jean plays keyboards, sings some backing vocals and is responsible for the compositions. Currently we get on stage as a piano and voice act only, as entertainment for the guests in our restaurant. Sometimes I play some congas too in the restaurant; real drums would be too loud.

I play guitar in a melodic death metal band I would like to start up my own band sometime in the future and just play stuff i compose. Kind of a solo project i guess. My writing is not even close to death metal. Some metal moments, but i'm getting more and more jazzy. Haven't really settled into any style yet, but it seems a lot of stuff i write just has a really odd feeling to it. Strange chords and odd textural combinations. |

I play lead/rhythm electric guitar for my band Dalonda (named after our
drummer). We're not prog. Actually, we're more pop than anything.
