Just added Holger Czukay, Helmut Hattler, Tab Two and Peter Wolbrand to our collection. I had left them out for some reason (getting old, losing memory, etc...).

Read again. I said at the beginning that, unless noted otherwise, we have ALL of the albums of the listed artists.

Jesus H. Christ...

How long have you been collecting prog? You seem to have everything except the metal side which is fine considering all the other stuff.

Well, my brother started it in the late 60s. He is 10 years older than I am, but he only listens to classical and jazz now, so he gave all his other albums to me. Jean inherited a few albums from her parents, who were hippies in the late 60s. And then we collected ourselves, of course.

No matter how diverse the collection is, ignoring a genre as a whole is narrow minded. There are tons of remarkable prog metal albums out there ... Certif1ed started a nice thread about the prog metal "gems".

We don't collect for collecting's sake, we collect the music we like. And metal is not really among it. We know some of the gems, but no thanks. There are very few bands of the metal genré we like. And there are other things that have a higher priority on our list for possible next acquisitions. We may eventually get to the few metal bands we like, but first things first.

Your collection seems pretty complete to me for some genres. what type of music are you currently looking for?

We'll definitely expand our collection with some Italian prog.  By the way, the prog-metal band we like best (well, at least some of them; they had a singer once whom we are not so fond of) is not in the archives.

Skyclad. They have a violonist in their band, which makes them quite interesting.

I had an album by Skyclad a few years ago. Before I'd heard of prog. Their singer/lyricist is superb. Very intelligent band.

Fortunately you did not offer your collection for rating, becouse in that case we need two years for rewiew 9500 CD-s.

we have their albums on vinyl only; Friede's brother had them, and he gave his collection to her. since he is 10 years older than Friede he may even have bought them the regular way: in a store

Where's Mike Patton? You don't have any Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Kaada, Mike Patton solo albums, Tomahawk ...

we have what we have, and that's basically because we know of the artists we have. we can't have artists we don't know about. we might as well ask other people: "where's Mother Gong?", for example, when we see their collection. no-one's knowledge is complete

What I meant was: WHY don't you have any Mike Patton albums - not interested, low priority, don't like him, ...

I just think that you might like Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante or Kaada ...
