Seems I already voted in this poll???? I would have voted for Freddie Mercurie.

Me too  - I voted Jim Morrison though cos he had so much charisma and still does (presuming he really is dead of course). Yes - v shocked at Freddie Mercury's death and Kurt Cobain - gone but never forgotten!

Not nice, Cygnus  - she is recovering from cancer and is still receiving radiotherapy. Also she is one heck of a singer, regardless of what people think of her lifestyle....

No-one mentioned the most recent dead - Pierre Moerlen, drummer of Gong, who died May 3rd of a heart attack. This is especially disappointing from a guy like Oiverstoned, who has a Gong quote in his signature.

Another very important one that has not been metioned, and one of the best poets in prog rock, was Robert Calvert, singer and poet for Hawkwind and half a dozen of solo albums who died in 1989.

I don't think anyone was mentioned Warren Zevon yet.  A truly underrated song writer, IMO, and a great lyricist.  'Twas a real shame when he died. RIP

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.
