Considering the latest policy there is not an artist whose addition would shock me anymore.

Well said, so do I. In fact, I am the one who added them tot he archives. Now listen to this:
I'm sure you can all argue that progressive electronic music is Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream etc and 'modern' music such as Leftfield is not progressive electronic because it sounds totally different. But prog music has changed, including electronica. Look at The Mars Volta! They're today's version of prog rock. It just sounds a whole lot different to the prog of the 70s. And 80s. etc. It's just the same here with electronic.

I know many modern electronic bands, but IMO Leftfield aren't one of them. They're more like Underworld, Massive Attack etc.. They're innovative, but not progressive.

Well, they've been removed now, I hope you're all happy. A lot of work went into putting them on the site, And I was up til 3 in the morning doing most of it. I even sat up sending quite a large MP3 via YouSendIt, because I cared that much about them being in the archives.
I hope you're happy.

Why were you so sure that they would be accepted?

I provided a reason, justifications and everything. The electronic section was very sparse; I would have thought some new additions would be welcome. But evidently not.

This genre contains artists like Vangelis, Tangerine Dream or Kraftwerk. Leftfield don't fit in there. Maybe when a new genre for modern prog. electronic music is created ...

It was supposed to be a pleasant surprise. Oh well. I'm trying for a new band now. Not sure what genre to put them in though...kraut-rock, or experimental....there should be a crossover genre.

I don't think that anyone here is happy about you having spent much time in vain, adding the band, info and albums ... ![](smileys/smiley19.gif)

What are X2 classed as? Not a very familiar band to anyone I
should think, but it's basically Matt Abts (drums) of Gov't Mule and
Johnny Neel (keyboards) and that's all. A very electronic sound
with all sorts of things going on. I don't think they're prog,
not at all, but would like someone who may know, what genre they sort
of come under?
I like them, whether they're prog or not.
James.
