I've become a Marillion fan in these past few months and I want to explore other neo-prog.  I've listened to the MP3s of Arena and what I've heard sounds great, Also I like what I've heard from Pendragon's MP3s available.  where should I start with Arena and where should I continue with neo-prog?  (The only neo-prog albums I have are all of Marillion's studio albums minus Anoraknophobia and Radiation)

All of Marillion albums!
Well what do you like more: The Marillion with Hogarth (Marbles, Brave, Seasons End etc.) or the Marillion with Fish (Script, Fugazi etc.)?

I suggest you try IQ. After Marillion, they are the second most popular neo prog band in the archives.

I love both eras of marillion they probably both fall into my top ten favorite bands/artists.  I haven't heard Season's End yet either forgot to include that one.  Fish Marillion is more solid, I love all the albums, while H Marillion sometimes lacks: Marbles and Brave are both fantastic, Holidays In Eden and marillion.com are two great pop albums and Afraid of Sunlight is a good mix of both.

But if he adores Hogarth, I would suggest Pendragon.
Pendragon is great music, a bit soft and folky (the voice), but very nice. (New album coming up end of this month!!)

If he more likes the Fish era I would say IQ or Arena. Arena cannot impress me that much. The resemblance with Marillion Fish era is so much but it misses a certain power.
IQ is great. I will see them in concert soon and I have not heard anything of their last 4 (!) albums. So I am very curious.

I believe if you listen to IQ, then they will even impress you more than  Marillion music...

Suggest you to start with their best album which is "EVER".

I 'ave to concur to go with IQ next.  I believe they are the best neo-prog band out there and they put on a great concert.
And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

This rings a bell from somewhere... It must be from a prog album? Is it Pink Floyd?

Yeah, it's from the song "The Great Gig in the Sky" from DSotM. A fantastic track IMO.

Twelfth Night - Fact And Fiction.

Unbelievable album - especially when you consider it was released a year before "Script...". You may find Geoff Mann's vocals an acquired taste - but listen to some Peter Hammill first - that'll sort you out!
