I've become a Marillion fan in these past few months and I want to explore other neo-prog. I've listened to the MP3s of Arena and what I've heard sounds great, Also I like what I've heard from Pendragon's MP3s available. where should I start with Arena and where should I continue with neo-prog? I love both eras of marillion they probably both fall into my top ten favorite bands/artists. I haven't heard Season's End yet either forgot to include that one. Fish Marillion is more solid, I love all the albums, while H Marillion sometimes lacks: Marbles and Brave are both fantastic, Holidays In Eden and marillion.com are two great pop albums and Afraid of Sunlight is a good mix of both. ------------- "The rock and roll business is pretty absurd, but the world of serious music is much worse." - Zappa |

But if he adores Hogarth, I would suggest Pendragon. If he more likes the Fish era I would say IQ or Arena. Arena cannot impress me that much. The resemblance with Marillion Fish era is so much but it misses a certain power. |

I 'ave to concur to go with IQ next. I believe they are the best neo-prog band out there and they put on a great concert. ------------- And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime. I never said I was frightened of dying. |

Twelfth Night - Fact And Fiction. Unbelievable album - especially when you consider it was released a year before "Script...". You may find Geoff Mann's vocals an acquired taste - but listen to some Peter Hammill first - that'll sort you out! |
