True, there are many good songs, I just think this is the best one.

no noodling? I disagree. The first half of the song is very excellent, and tight, and minimal noodling, but I find that side 2 loses the spark of the first side, and does not have any strong melodies, just mindless noodling.

Don't get me wrong though, I think think as a brick is a prog masterpeice, but not the best song ever written, there are a lot better.

It's called Passion Play. It's called 8 million times better. TAAB may be a greater achievement for Tull but Passion Play contains much more beauty.  TAAB just seems to lack a soul. Of course it may be the disgusting color of the album cover that makes me think that way. For some reason when I listen to an album the overall color of the cover is stained in my mind and if its a color like that then I'll just think of it and not be very excited. Albums could overcome that, but TAAB is just not good enough. Of course I do like the album, I just don't feel attached to it.

Of course Sossity; You're a Woman from Benefit is Tull's best song.

I dislike the ending of track 1 and beggining of track 2, its very cheesy part, 5 minutes full of boring-time.

I like more second part of this wonderful album, and i like "Passion Play" more than this album. Still, one of my favourites from JT, but i think little overrated. Best albums in 1972 are: "Ys" from Il Balletto Di Bronzo, "Darwin" from Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso and "Foxtrot" from Genesis to me.

You can't call anything the best, but it's a great album in my opinion. I love how they were basically taking the piss out of all their prog peers with  a mock concept album, and it ended up being one of the most respected ones.
