Too late for puting trinkets on a Christmas tree! Just kidding! Not a bad cover. Let's hope the music will be good or I'll totally stop listening to DT.

I adore the cover... It makes me anticipate the new album even highlier... (God, that is expressed in a somewhat strange fashion... )

Good cover - but the angle of the string is still humbug (intentionally?).

The last ball is at the wrong height, and it's driving me insane! Does
anyone know if that was intentional or just a paintshop error or
something? Knowing Dream Theater there's probably some deeper meaning
there of sorts, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out

The meaning of the ball being too high is because they didn't want the "Octavarium" on the hills. Duh.

Hey, first post here, nice to meet you all I just wanted to add that from what we've been able to gather over at the Mike Portnoy message board, most of the fake tracks are from James LaBrie new solo album Elements of PErsuasion wich is why many people are thrown off. So is there any way to remove this review?
|
LOL ... had the same idea (LaBrie solo Album) when I read the preceding post. That stuff is not bad, but not really prog.

DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005) Review by Rafael @ 11:20:41 AM EST, 4/22/2005
 — There is one thing i cant understand about this album, why the song names have nothing to do with the lyrics? ie:The root of all evil, chorus says "crucify...." over and over, that makes no sense, is crucifiction the root of all evil? maybe the other people who downloaded the album could explain me, beside that, this album is so diferent, it doesnt seem like dt at all, the only thing about dt i recognize there is james labries voices, the rest of the instruments doesnt sound like dt, the guitar doesnt sounds like petrucci, it reminds me a guitar player called "marco sfogli", and keyboards sounds like they where done by matt guillory, very weird, i wonder if any other who downloaded this noticed that?, however, its a cool album, but not a good dt album, i wont buy this album cause its very bad, and i wont listen to it again, and if someone said i downloaded a fake, i wont care cause i know its the real one, i completely trust on p2p, and i dont need any proove that the album is the real thing before critizicing.
You've gotta be kidding me...

Hah, I was actually thinking Octane because its one of the first albums I got this year, so it was fresh on my mind, not as fresh as something like the Moody Blues (years ago).
Hah Crucify was actually a song on the new James Labrie album- Elements of Persuasion (quite heavy, not really Metal or Prog Rock, more like Hard Rock)
