This is for  me, so I vote for Marillion. Afraid of Sunlight has some great tracks.

Happy to push up the vote for AOS with my vote, but gee, Dark Matter is a good album.

yep my feelings entirely

Sacred Sound, You Never Will and Harvest of Souls are all quite amazing; Red Dust Shadow and Born Brilliant are good but not quite in the same class.

The material on The Sentinel is strong but the production is so poor I find it almost unlistenable.

Sacred Sound is an incredible track but the rest of Dark Matter I find fairly average by IQ's standards.

So by default it's AOS which is one of Marillion's best albums.

IQ Dark Matter

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

I've not heard the Marillion one, but I love DarK Matter and The Sentinel is just Jim Garten's favourite album.

Don't like what I've heard of post Fish Marillion, and I've not heard AOS so won't vote.

The IQ album is pretty good, not their best. I prefer Ever and Seventh House. The Sentinal has some good moments and the gatefold sleeve is nice, but much of the music it is just cheese soaked nonsense. Ewan Lowson had a good voice though. Preferred it to Alan Reeds tbh.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Afraid of Sunlight is the reason why I actually quit with Marillion. One of the worst albums I've ever purchased. Dark Matter is an excellent album instead.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I am voting for the most overtly intelligent one, rather than the mythical one or the fantasy fiction one.  Geek

IQ Dark Matter for me as well, although I do like some of Afraid of Sunlight. I'm just not much of a fan of Hogarth-era Marillion anyway.
