I feel the same way.  While I don't care for non-rock acts getting into the HoF, Public Enemy getting in is okay by me.  They were cool in their own way and very influential and actually very intelligent to top it off (unlike today's rap/pop candy crap).  As long as Rush got in, I'm happy (yet, I also would've been fine had they not, since they'd been snubbed for so long).

I thought Heart was pretty well known.  Then again, same with Procol Harum.

As I said...

Just taking a quick look at some of the artists who are in, and who's not, should make it clear to all fans of rock that RaRHoF is just a big, fat joke. It's not something which should be taken seriously.

I beg to differ. I've known PH for several years, but hadn't heard about Heart before today. Then again, perhaps it's just me?LOL

Very cool for Rush. I approve (Heart as well). Thumbs Up  That Deep Purple was rejected is bogus.  I do not approve.  Thumbs Down

You know something, I totally agree. I don't care anymore. The whole rock and roll hall of fame concept is so inconsistant and doesn't make sense because it's run by monkeys. Actually the progressive music awards is where it's at. Rush beat out Nightwish's Immaginarium for album of the year. Now there is something to cheer about.

^ So did a few other artists/bands. Maybe that's just how RnRHoF folks planned. Now, if Rush got in on 12/21/12, that would be something.

^ What do you think of when you hear "rock-n'-roll"? When I hear it, I think "traditional rock-n'-roll".

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the stupidest idea in the entire history of stupid ideas. What's next, an Artists' Hall of Fame? Will Rembrandt get in, or won't he? Go Van Gogh! We can have cheerleaders in uniform and stadiums with marching bands. I say this, having once found myself in Cleveland and accidentally wandering over to what turned out to be the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. What the hell, I thougth, and had a wander in. Cool place to visit. That's not my point. Call it the Rock & Roll Museum. But a Hall of Fame? Perish the idea! Ugh, Americans!!!!

Kraftwerk were not a rock band but they had a huge impact on rock bands to use electronics in their music. Just look at their album covers. Donna Summer had a good voice but wasn't as influental as Kraftwerk. Their music is unique, experimental and fun. They are deserving.

Rush has a much bigger fanbase than Yes. I would love to see Yes inducted.

I agree with you Scott.

So let me get this straight. RUN DMC is in, but not KRAFTWERK? The rap group is in, but not the synth wizards that created so much influence for metal bands to use more keyboards in their overall sound??? What kind of cosmic bunny hole did navigate into? What the hell is happening?

You're saying Disco isn't rock but electronic pioneers are?
