In familiar talking, it's said "Pet" (verb: pêter).

You can say "Vent" ("wind"), which is a little bit classier (but just a little bit).

Then, you have the very scientifical "Flatulence".

Kids say "Prout", so when we hear that the Romanian river called "Prut" is flooding, we have to struggle not to laugh in a very immature way.

Yeah, I know it's the dumbest of dumbness and I should not encourage them, but farts really are funny - after sex its the funniest bodily function that humans do.
