Topic: Bert vs Ernie Posted: June 10 2012 at 16:21 |
I actually thought the idea of ret-conning Bert and Ernie into a gay couple was a good idea, very progressive. Shame they've more or less said it will never ever happen.

Bert is way too constipated. He needs an Ernima.

And the fact that it's all a plot by The Corporation For Public Broadcasting to promote homosexual relationships.

So? Bart Simpson calls Homer Homer.
Ernie was just a wee bit ahead of the curve....

That actually makes a lot of sense except for the fact that Ernie calls him "Bert".

I am possibly the only kid in the world who assumed that Bert was Ernie's father.

The funny thing is that they're both dicks (different kinds of dicks- Ernie's dickishness is much less intentional than Bert's) and would be just irritating individually, but as a pair they become likeable and entertaining.

Ernie, because I think he appeals to little kids more as he acts like a kid.

Bert is a buzzkill. I feel like Bert and Ernie are just two sides to one person broke into 2 seperate inferiors.

Went with Bert. He can be kind of a buzzkill, but his heart's in the right place, and he at least has some common sense that Ernie doesn't have.

I identified more with Ernie as a kid.

Believe it or not, before I saw this poll, I was just now watching Bert and Ernie with the kids and was wondering to myself which of the two I'd rather have as a roommate.

A deceptively difficult choice. Ernie is kind-hearted but annoying, Bert is much more useful but kind of a dick. I'll have to think about this one.
