Topic: Yes changes vocalists AGAIN! Jon Davison is out!! Posted: April 13 2014 at 20:27 |
Well, Roger Daltrey may do an incredibe job... if his voice is still up to it, I don't know in which condition his singing is by now. He would give a nice rocking edge to the music of Yes.

I know perhaps no one has been fooled by this thread, or at least not long enough to make trouble. But it might just as well, the longer it stays. By the way, I didn't see it on "Just for Fun"... I don't usually take a look there, but however. It isn't really that important.

I knew it was an April Fool's joke from the get-go - it was under the 'Just For Fun' heading when I noticed it.....

Perhaps it's time to block this thread or something (perhaps make a little change to the thread title). When it was posted on fool's day it was clear it was a joke... or if someone believed it well, they might have been a bit naive. But if someone didn't see it when it was posted and sees it for the first time now, he may be somewhat confused.

I was thinking - Christina Booth could be the first female vocalist for Yes :-)

Yes announces that it will ditch "Heaven and Earth" and instead record an album written entirely by Mike Tiano.
"We knew we were in trouble when Jon Davison came to us with a song about a goddess in a head dress--we're done with celestial hairstyles," says Alan White. Chris Squire adds, "We and our manager Turdy Brown treated Mike like sh*t, which makes sense if you think about our manager's name. So f**k her, we're making amends even if the o**l s*x stops."
Steve Howe mentioned that "Mike's song 'There Behind You' is better than any of the crap we had already recorded." Jon Anderson concluded with, "Why are you asking me? I'm not in the band and don't give a Flying From Here F**k."
Listen to Mike's tunes and see if Yes made the right decision. --MOT 4/1/14

Was going to go with someone like Lou Rawls or Barry White but I can't think of anyone living still rocking that voice. Shame.
Either way, I am never in favor of a band continuing on after losing their iconic frontman (only exception being AC/DC). I don't want to see Yes without Jon Anderson, Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott, Lynyrd Skynyrd without Ronnie, etc. Just admit you aren't the same band and use a different name.

Hi,
I made a point of not reading any posts yesterday ... but then, if there was one that was ripe for a joke, the YES one was a good one to work with ...but I have to tell you ... I'm kinda tired of this stuff and it is starting to bore me silly!
I'm ready for new blood because this is just old blood and it's getting older ... and older!
Maybe a Black singer and some rap would help this band wake up some! Or get that goon drummer that was in Dream Theater so he can try to out-stage Chris!
That would make a good show ... !!!

If it's not, Yes has a real problem on their hands!! I'm a frog-voiced 2nd Bass by training!!
I think they'd do better with Slartibartfast or Lazland or ANYBODY else on vocals but moi!
However, if the bass chair ever opens.....
Happy April Fools Day to all! |
I don't know about Slarti, but they'd need to strap my goolies pretty damn tight!!
