Pfft! Where's Angra?! I almost voted for Ayreon, Shadow Gallery,
Opeth, SX or PoS, but then I saw the "other" choice. And I'm only
saying Angra because I can't choose DT.

All of these bands are excellent in their own right, and do what they do very well. But the best of them all IMO is the dominant band Opeth.

of course SYMPHONY X!
Then probably Vauxdvihl/Clockwork/Payne's Gray, but sadly they are too unknown But Psychotic Waltz and Adagio are great as well!!! |

Well, this was a pretty hard poll for me, but I voted PoS.
Allthough I'm currently enjoying Opeth a bit more, I think Pain of Salvation is more prog metal than Opeth, because of Akerfeldt's voice. Compared to all the other bands in the list, he makes Opeth a bit less prog than them. And Pain of Salvation is absolutely beautiful music: one of the few bands I might once prefer more than DT |

I think Opeth are doing the most interesting things with Prog Metal today, although I need to hear more PoS...
