Dunlop Fins. Great shape, great speed and accuracy for alternate picking.

All the best freaks are here, please stop staring at me. Marillion - Freaks (1988).

No Mr. Zappa, you use steel picks only actually.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Heavy to extra heavy, doesn't matter the brand. Basically, if I can easily bend it, it's rubbish.

I use a pick and my free middle, ring, and pinky fingers for rhythm and comping.

The idea is that the special shape of the pick forces you to really only use the tip of the pick - and the more you do that, the faster you'll be able to pick because the actual distance of the movement decreases.

that makes sense after looking at the design, less a pluck and more a strike, wouldn't mind trying one

Well I have a bunch of Dunlop nylons .60mm very light and pliable as I ain't much of a fingerpicker.  Wish I was, because it seems to get fairly good results for the two I mentioned Wink
Can you tell me where we're headin'?

I was going to add, it seems the really skilled ones (Beck, Knopfler) just don't bother with a pick at all.
