I am very tired of hearing "How's that working out for you?"

If I never hear another person say "Don't go there" I will die a happy man.

Someone would actually say that? I've never heard that before.

I kind of like the mutation of like into an all purpose word, when not used excessively.

My manager at work will add "or whatever" after almost everything he says, it's really annoying or whatever.
if you own a sodastream i hate you

Ahh, this thread again. Well here was my list before:

Originally posted by DisgruntledPorcupine DisgruntledPorcupine wrote:

"It's my opinion"

Okay, I'm a hypocrite, I use this one, but I just hate when people use this when you're talking about facts, and NOT opinions.

"Bull in a china shop"

Damn you Mythbusters! Angry

"FML" or "I hate my life" etc.

See, I'm a teenager. And the worst part about being a teenager is that all your friends think their lives suck and are worse than everyone elses. They're never grateful for anything and think that they have it worse off than every other person in the damned world. I swear if one more person I know says they wanna die I'm just gonna say my thoughts on it right at them! Angry

"Say that to my f**king face"
My response is usually "I already did."

"Crunk"

DeadDeadDead

"I'll kick your ass"

What is so threatening about giving someone a kick in the rear end?

And last but not least, everyone who uses internet abbreviations in person. "ell-oh-ell" "bee-are-bee" "bee-tee-doubleyoo." I have a cousin who does this.
Here's two more.

"I could care less"

What does that even mean? Don't you mean you couldn't care less?

"Pitch-red, pitch-white, pitch- blue etc."

PITCH IS BLACK! NO OTHER COLOUR!

Not as far as I'm aware - it think it's "that" to introduce the defining clause and "which" for any subsequent ones.
What?

Here's a thought - shouldn't the name of this thread be "Phrases which annoy"?

Peter? Adjudication please...

Ermm no, next it's King of the Simpsons Family Guy's Dad on a Hill, after that it's When Pets Pass Their Driving Test.

It's not just you, Dean.  I was watching a Points of View equivalent on BBC News and someone said the exact same thing.  The female BBC announcer was even interviewed about why she says it. LOL

UnAmerican that is.

I was saying that it was a phrase that annoys.  That is the point of the thread.

OMG gets on my nerves, Some people have to say it 10 times during a conversation.

I believe people aren't expected to play a sport at school.

There's always the benefits of being healthy by playing football, basketball, etc...it's not being forced down your throat.

I hate sports?!

Blasphemy. Wink

We're I'm from, joining something is all but actually mandated by the administration. I didn't because I'm a rebel, but besides the social pressures, colleges want you to fill up every f**king spare second of your time not spent studying with something "productive". Excuse me, but I think the internet has contributed immensely to my self-development. Probably not positively, but I don't care, the internet is here to keep me warm.

That sucks.

Go you, rebel, you!

Where is it that you live that these tyrannical colleges preside over one like Big Brother? Confused

Internet's not bad, I can see where you're coming from. It's all good.

^I love Superbowl Sunday. It means very little traffic to and from the local ski areas.  But yes, even if someone is a fan of the game, it has completely lost any meaning as a game.

Unless I'm personally involved, I am not big into sports.

An exception is the NFL playoffs.  I leach off the energy of all those die hard fans and I really enjoy myself with them.

I find that hard to imagine...

If you want to play sports that don't cause you brain damage, that is fine. I am an in reasonable acceptable shape and I will play casual sports with other people. But my hand-eye coordination his horrible with real objects, possibly due to my being right handed but left-eye dominant and having horrible vision in my left eye. So I don't like that up until you graduate high school you are expected to participate in some form of organized sports.

What I hate is that it's a cultural expectation for every male to sit down for five hours on Superbowl Sunday and watch people talk about and play a game in between the 3 hours of commercials. And of course you have to be emotionally invested in the results of this game between people who have never met and who were probably paid more last year than you will make in your entire life. I play a game every year to see how long I can go not knowing who is playing in the Superbowl and afterwards what the results were. People are always shocked that I am actively opposed to the whole spectacle of the Superbowl and professional athletics, much as my anti-Olympics campaign fell on deaf ears. It's an opinion that is somehow not even considered by people, it is so ingrained into the popular consciousness. Just like normal people can't believe that I could not like rock music. The contrarian in me finds it difficult not to oppose opinions that I'm expected to have...

I always got a lot of pleasure from people at my high school getting upset that the Redskins lost again. They're always going to lose! Why are you letting this ruin your day?
